I bought this for home power backup. Living along the Gulf Coast during hurricane season, you need to be self sufficient as we are subject to power outages. This generator will carry the load to allow us to maintain the basics of survival. The ease of operating will allow any of us to operate and maintain the generator. As with all equipment there are improvements that you would like to see but from an overall perspective this is a fine machine.

I bought this in case of severe weather. It has been sitting for 4 months now, just put the oil and fuel in, connected the battery and it fired right up. Not nearly as loud as I thought it was going to be. Will be starting it up monthly from now on. Maintenance instructions seem to be pretty straightforward.

I bought the Igen 4500 a little less than a month ago. I am extremely happy with the features and the performance of this machine. I had some questions about machine operations and I used the chat option to have my questions answered and it was quick and easy. I'm looking forward to a very rewarding summer on the road and having the option of staying in campgrounds that do not have electric.

I bought this last fall. Finally got a chance to use it for the first time camping last weekend. It started and worked excellent I absolutely love it! the only dislike I have is how you have to change the oil but other than that it's a perfect little machine

I love everything about this generator, except that after about 5 running hours it started leaking fuel (apparently an issue with the auto-choke?). I'm sure Westinghouse will take care of it, so I'm giving it 4 stars, since I imagine this is not typical for this generator model.

This is my first time buying a generator and I'm really surprised by how quiet it is. I expected it to be loud enough to not want to be anywhere near it when it is running but that's not the case. Setup was pretty easy and the remote start is a nice feature. I'm happy with my purchase.

Just received this unit, filled with oil, fuel and hooked up the battery. It started and would not hardly idle at all. Called customer support and told them what the issue was and they told me right off. These have a choke on the carburetor that is not mentioned and you have to pull the side cover to access it. She was a big help. Whoever the engineer was that came up with that on should get a 1 star rating. Other than that I'm perfectly happy with the unit. According to tech support they are aware of the issue and are currently working on a fix..

I just bought this a week ago, but I have been using my brothers for months now. I am in construction an have used a butt load of generators (not as big as 4500) but the Westinghouse Brand is by far the best. Like I said I just bought My iGEN 4500 for the use with my RV for Motocross events Knowing that I am going to have much more power than I need. I've done much research on this brand via internet BUT WHAT SOLD ME were the amount of people I've met at the tracks who WHOLE HEARTILY love and praise there Westinghouse generators.

I bought this igen 5000 to replace my igen 4500 which had 580 run hours on it. This is the 3rd Westinghouse I've purchased and can attest to their quality and performance, bar none. I'm excited to begin use of the 5000 while camping this summer. GREAT PRODUCT; quiet, powerful and flawless.

Bought as backup for on board Onan 4000. Have owned 3 new RVs & all Onans fail during warranty and then again out of it. Have one more race untill summer break and then can get it to shop/ and hope its back in 9 weeks. Had Generac in motor home for 9.5 years & never any issues with my personal routine service. Ran iGen inverter 15M and then for 2 hours with 15K A/C on. Showed 50% with compressor running &big drop when compressor is off (on energy saver) and r.p.m drops. Will know more about capabilities after next 3 day use. It is a little louder than other inverters I have observed at races but quiter than Champion 4000/3500 generator. 50 hour oil changes will be a drawback but only holds .6 quart of oil. Guess that makes it necessary.
