The owner's manual is terrible. It doesn't explain things fully so that you have to contact Westinghouse repeatedly by phone. The manual is also outdated with confusing diagrams that don't even match the generator display and features. Apparently some oil was left in the generator when packed/shipped and it leaked all over the bottom and sides of the unit and into the plastic bag that it was packed in. So the oil caused the foam baffling on the oil access door to come off and it will not stick back on. Also, be aware of the battery pins that need connecting, not to the battery itself as per in the instructions, but pin to pin. The connecting pin was hidden off to the side in mine and I thought I had a bad battery. Also, as explained to me on the phone, in order to manually crank the motor you have to manually choke it by taking off the side panel and find a choke switch on top of the carburetor. It is a royal pain to unscrew the panel just to manually crank it...bad design! I hope everything else works better than the initial startup problems. The tech told me that a new manual is being written for this generator and I can see why.

After reviewing hours of online videos and written reviews I decided to give the igen4500df a try. I was hesitant with so many reviews showing the choke issue but videos show it is an easy fix. Setup was really easy and it started with the second button push. Runs great. Really quiet. Will run both A/C units but that is its max. Anything else and it will trip the overload on my fifth wheel. Remote start is a must have in my opinion as I do not want to go outside in the cold morning air to be able to start my Coffey pot. Overall I would highly recommend this product based on initial impressions.

I think this is as big of a generator you can get and consider it portable. It has a nicely designed quality telescopic handle and 2 grab handles on top. It is an inverter/generator with specified very low harmonic distortion. I figure that most electric merchandise these days are controlled by sensitive electronics and decided it would be prudent to get a unit with cleaner electricity output then a conventional generator supplies. Considering the retail price relative to other known high quality manufacturers, I think the unit overall is a sound purchase for occasional recreational and emergency usage. My only negative criticism is the very common known issue with the automatic electric choke. Cold starting the engine in almost all scenarios requires setting the choke and the choke should be off when the engine starts to run properly. I was anticipating this to be an issue on the unit I purchased and was not concerned about making the repair as there are several detailed videos online that provide instructions. However, I don't understand why this is a ongoing problem and honestly I was close to going with another manufacturer because I felt that this seemingly minor, ongoing unresolved issue may be indicative of several other soon to be exposed operating problems. My choke would not engage upon initial start attempt. The engine would not start unlike others that did start but the choke would not disengage. My problem was the same though as the electronic choke harness was not plugged into it's connector. I suppose time will tell but I will say after having to remove and loosen most of the plastic panels to repair the electric choke issue, the parts and assembly that I could see seem to be quality constructed. Once I corrected the choke the unit fired up right away and has ran great since.

Very easy to set up. Starts on first push of button. Runs very smoothly. Doesn't hesitate when a electrical item is plugged in, continuous power. I needed this to be reliable, I live in a fire zone where power maybe shutoff with high wind to avoid wildfires. This will give me power for basic necessities.

I bought this to use with our new camper because i was looking for a reasonably compact generator with a 30 amp output. It works great and has features i wasn't even expecting, like remote start/stop with a key fob. My only complaint thus far is the size. It's definitely bigger than expected and, while portable, is a lot for one person to muscle into the back of a truck or SUV.

This product checks all of the boxes. First and foremost remote start key fob. We wanted to able to start and stop the unit from inside our rig. This is also higher wattage on the inverter quiet portable generator class. This is easy to use and maintain with easily accessible hatch doors. This also has a great track record for being a product that has proven to be a quality generator over the long term. A little heavy to lift for one person, but the handles make it easy for 2 people to lift it. The collapsing handle make it easy to manuver around with good size wheels when the terrain is less than perfect.

I bought this for our RV and the generator works like a charm. It starts the air conditioner up without any hesitation. We won't have to worry about any hot summers now. The efficiency mode also works very well. The generator will sense when it needs a few more RPM's and then immediately drops back down to an idle speed.

I just got this today through FedEx and I am so excited. I added oil, connected the battery, and added gasoline. I slowly pulled the starting cord just to get the oil moving around before I actually started the generator. After that I turned it on and used the remote start to start the generator and wow!! It immediately fired up and was soooo quiet it surprised me. I've read a ton of reviews on many inverter generators and this seemed to be the best for the wattage output. I can not wait to hook it to our camper this weekend. I am beyond excited about this generator, it seems very well built and I haven't seen one blemish on it yet so far like some have seen when they unboxed it. I'm impressed so far and so are the kids and wife lol.

Haven't had it very long, but so far very satisfied! It is very quiet and you can actually have a conversation while standing next to it without shouting! My son got it all set up for me and he was really impressed also. Already wants to borrow it to go camping. I bought it for emergencies. Really impressed! Would recommend!

I bought this generator and am very happy with the features. The fuel shut off valve works well. It's easy to fill with gas, and the remote start is a cool addition. The compartments to change the oil and replace the spark plug is a little tight, but otherwise I am very happy with this product.
