I purchased this generator a month ago. First time took it camping it started twice and then did not start. It would go through the two start cycles and not start. I contacted customer support and was told to tap the carb because of a possible stuck float. When I removed the cover one of the plastic alignment pins broke or was broke. I soon noticed that there was a screw on the automatic choke that was not just loose but extended out about and inch. I tightened all the screws and and it started up and has worked great ever since. It just sucks that I had to work on a brand new item and in the process the side cover broke. If it were not for the choke issue I would have given this item 5 stars. It currently has been running excellent and the remote is a great option when camping.

Just bought this a few days ago from a big box home store. I’m giving it 4 stars based on initial inspection and only a few hours of use. If it continues to run like it has been, in six months I’ll upgrade my rating to 5 stars. Unboxing was uneventful, units fit and finish were good, plenty of useful data placarded on the exterior to help guide you through simple procedures. Unit came with 600 ml bottle of oil and a very handy funnel to add or change engine oil. I added the entire contents of the bottle, filled the gas tank and connected the starting battery. Two pushes of the start button had the genny idling smoothly. After an hour of running with a very light load I connected the genny to my rv and ran the air conditioner, a 15k AC. The generator had no problems changing to the higher load and didn’t miss a beat. I checked the remote fob and it operated correctly. At this point the only question I have is that the manual identifies four different displays on the data center but on my generator the data center has five possible displays. I’m assuming the fifth display is total run time. If not I’ve already ordered a digital hour meter that will count run time. If this generator continues to start, run and meet my electrical load demands then I’ll consider this money well spent.

Bought new - would not start out of the box. Had to remove covers, adjust choke, charge battery...not difficult, just a pain. Service access sucks. Why is the access panel to the carb, choke, throttle screwed on? Should be an quick release panel - especially with the starting issues.

I bought a different generator that I returned because it was too loud, now with this Westinghouse iGen4500 we can enjoy all the electricity we need with no fear of disrupting anyone else. Very happy and the remote start is wonderful. It took me a long time to decide on the best "Genny" to get and I'm proud my research paying off.

So far so good. I've only had this unit a short period time. I ran the Westinghouse iGen4500 about 20 minutes until warmed up and then changed the oil and was completely satisfied with the lack of any metal shavings whatsoever. I'm in the process of breaking the unit in prior to taking it on some camping excursions. I'm also very impressed with how quiet the unit is, and I'm sure all the other people in the RV parks will be equally happy. Vary easy to move around.

This generator is lightweight and powerful. It's light enough that my girlfriend and I are able to lift it into the back of my truck without a struggle. It powers our camper when we're out in the woods but doesn't disturb any nearby neighbors with obnoxious noise. Overall, im happy with this purchase and think it was well worth it.

I did alot of research online, looked alot of different generators. The Westinghouse iGen 4500 was supposed to be the most quiet with the lowest decibel rating, at the best price. When I got it set up and started up, it was obvious I had made a good purchase. (Oh, BTW, my wife thinks the remote start is cool!) We plan to use this with our new RV and plan to do as much remote "boondocking" as possible. This requires a generator strong enough to run the AC but quiet enough for us to sleep. I think we got it!

This generator seemed to be the best "bang for the buck" for a big inverter unit. Once full of and fueled up, it fired right up and ran smooth and quiet. We connected it to our RV, turned on the 15000btu AC, and the generator barely grunted as the AC kicked on. I think we're gonna LOVE this generator!

I have only used it three times so far. What I can say is it is very quiet which is exactly what I was looking for as I primarily plan to use it for camping. The handle and wheels make it easy to move. I really like the electric starter and the lights and display are simple. It runs my camper A/C with plenty of power to spare. All in all its just what I was looking for.

I bought this on 4/5 and it showed a couple days later. It fire up when i put oil and gas in it the very first time. I took it camping and had issues with the choke like most of these have I took it home and tore into and found the plug behind the control panel wasn't routed correctly,rerouted over top of the loom and works perfectly.
