Clarification of strap in the middle + review

I'm a big reader of reviews, I find you can never trust the star rating especially since people sometimes rate things they don't own "5 stars - this looks really cute!", or give things 1 star because they can't read the description. I already owned one of these and was contemplating buying one for my daughter. Our existing one has the strap in the center, and a manufacture date of OCT-2010. After reading the reviews, I was confused because some state "the older one was better" and visa versa, so I wasn't sure which was the newer model, but decided to risk it and buy a second one. I picked up a second one at my local Walmart in blue, and was happy to see that the strap has been REMOVED in the newer models, this particular one had a manufacture date of SEP-2012. We then ordered another one in pink for my daughter. Happily when it arrived at the store, it also had a 2012 date, and was of the newer design. If you purchase one and it has the strap across the center, return it and see if you can exchange it for a newer one. (Walmart was happy to return my older blue one for me.) The manufacture date is on a sticker on the outside of the box right beneath the UPC. So to clarify, the company has updated this product and improved upon it. No more annoying middle strap. ----------- After having purchased three of these in total, I have to say my kids (2 & 3) LOVE them. We purchased a Foam Mattress Topper in a Full, cut it in half, and put it under the fitted sheet for extra comfort. Well worth the $11 it cost at Walmart. The kids nap on them, relax and watch TV on them, even stopped hopping into bed with us at night, and instead will sleep on these in our bedroom. They refuse to let me put them away. We're headed on a 20 hour car trip next month and have differing accommodations, so these cots will work perfectly for the cabin, house, and hotel room. This is an excellent purchase, and it's a great value for the money. I am so glad I risked buying a second (and third) one to find that the design has been modified. They also fit the "Sleeping Bag Buds" we bought at Walmart last year PERFECTLY, and with a little compression, you can roll the foam mattress topper up and keep it in the travel bag with the cot, preserving how easy it is to store when not in use.

Fit our needs perfectly!

We have used this several times since buying it. It fit our needs perfectly for a place for our son to sleep at the "in-laws," and hotel. I will say, I read prior reviews and knew to add extra padding under the included sheet. My son had no trouble falling asleep or staying asleep on this cot. Great for naps or nighttime. It's also lightweight, and easy to pack. We had a car load of stuff on our vacation, and this cot took up almost no room. Great purchase! Definitely the way to go if your little one has outgrown a pack 'n play.

Just the right size and very portable

My granddaughter loves her bed! She uses it at my house for her afternoon naps and she feels very grown up. There is room for her and some stuffed animal friends. It went with us to my brother's house in Florida and provided something familiar in a new home. The fitted sheet is nice but I wish there was some type of pad that I could use under the sheet. Very satisfied though!

amazing cot!

This is a great piece to have if u have babies up to, well let's just say my 21 year old was laying on it. We took them to the beach, they r great to lay a sleeping baby on at the pool,(as long as u stay close to watch the baby). These cots have so many thing that they can be use for. Im going to get 2 more. My mother is going to get some for her house. Love them!

This is a great product and easy to transport, set up and take down. The included carrying pouch is big enough to stuff a toddler sheet and 2 toddler bed blankets in for transporting them. This fits standard crib-sized sheets. We used this to transition our kid from crib to toddler bed, since it's only like 6 inches off the ground. Don't like the included fitted cover - elastic is too strong and keeps the cot from sitting flat. Also, the support bar in the middle seems like it would be uncomfortable to lay on, though it's not something my 2 y.o. communicated to me. We ended up putting extra bed pillows on the floor under the cot on either side of the support bar in hopes the support bar wouldn't protrude so much.

I know that they recommend this product for 3 and up but I had no other option for my youngest shes 15 months. We knew that a play pen was too small and a toldler bed would not be able to travel with us in our move. So I bought this cot to do for now and so far so great We have had it for over a month now and she loves it easy access for her to climb in and out without a problem. Great option for children at the age of walking and up.

Great for my needs and great for travel

I love this product. I have a 19 month baby. Great for travel because personally I don't like my child to sleep in other adults beds, so now I can always carry it in the car and use it for naps or sleep overs. Good for the price. The only thing is that you have to put a comforter so it can be more rigid for the child.

Ok

I bought this my 6 yr old because she needed a temporary bed. Originally she slept with us in our bed but we need a a solution to have her sleep by herself. The firat 2 nights she would wake up in the middle of the night and climb into our bed. Its not very comfortable which is the down side but after making some adjustments like adding 3 small comfy blankets shes been sleeping in it.

I bought for my grandchild. So far so good. Only 18 months old. When he wakes up now he can come to where I am in the house. And he don't wake up crying any more. I also put a thicker blanket on it so he won't feel the poles. This is almost like the ones we had in day care. I like the fact that I can put him in any room of the house. When he goes home I can fold it up and put it in the bag that came with it.

I purchased 2 of these for my 18 month old twins as a travel alternative to hauling pack and plays. They work great for toddlers who don't get up and run around after laying down. One of the original ones I purchased had to be returned as a screw became stripped and could not hold up the sling of the bed. Not good considering we used them 2 times and my boy weighed 24 pounds. I returned it and purchased another one. This was a newer model and much better made in my opinion. There isn't a tight band in the middle of where their back goes so it is more comfortable. THe only draw back is the newer style bag is more plastic feel verses the canvas material of the first model. I would recommend for travel. We have one kid who is more active so we actually pack the cot inside of the pack and play bag and we have two bed with the travel luggage of one. I think they'll use them more as they get older.
