I recently upgraded to the

I recently upgraded to the OpenRun. I’m so glad I did. They fit perfectly around my ears and are super light weight. I can easily connect them to my garmin without any issues. The battery life is solid as well and on my long runs of over 2.5 hrs I know they will last the entire time. There are a decent amount of options for colors and you won’t be disappointed. I’m a huge fan!

Great for walks or runs!

I love that I can listen to music and still hear what’s happening around me. I’m not crazy about them for air travel… I guess I’d prefer to hear less around me when I’m a plane, ha! Sound quality it good. Love that I don’t have to be right near my phone for Bluetooth to work. Also quality on phone is great- both on my end and others (per their feedback). If I started my order over I’d get the newest ones that don’t have the head band- seems my head is small and if my hair is over the band it’s not a great fit. If my hair is tucked under it’s better. That said they are pretty good. I’m keeping them as they are great at the park for walks or runs! Exactly what the name says.

Industrial maintenance, Great product!

I work in industrial maintenance and very hot and loud environments. All of my daily task require that I must wear hearing protection, and I had originally looked into OSHA approved ear buds that would also provide sound protection. Then I ran across these. A friend had a pair and let me try them and I truly was impressed with their performance. I had my doubts since I had only know of over the ear or intra ear headphone/buds. My first experience with them were with out hearing protection in a safer quiet environment, but was greatly surprised when I did put form fitted plugs in that they were even louder (even having to turn them down) in the loudest areas of the facility I work in! I was hooked and mentioned them to my wife and she in turn purchased them immediately for me! The lightweight frame and versatility of allowing me to listen while I work and still use hearing pro is hands down the best experience I had of any headset/buds so far! Even in the loudest environments, they are clear and easy to hear while maintaining a minimal appearance and without frustration of wearability. Great product and highly recommend! I don’t forget they are there because I can hear them but often forget they are there if you catch my drift. Easy to use/wear. I don’t have to worry about them falling out (like buds) or losing them. They fit securely and comfortably but are easily absent of distractions. Truly am impressed with the ingenuity and performance of this product.

Best exercising headphones I've ever owned

This is my 2nd pair and they have been my go to for running and biking. I use them many hours each week and the sound, performance and comfort have been excellent. My only complaint is that my first pair died at just over 2 years, which is why I now have the 2nd pair.

I love these things, but wish they held up better long-term.

I was prompted to write this review after purchasing a new pair of OpenRun Shokz. They're lovely! And I'd recommend them to pretty much anyone! That said, they're also the SEVENTH pair of these I've had since discovering them. If it's not obvious, that fact cuts both ways: I love them so much that I keep buying more, and plan to keep buying more as necessary, but they don't really hold up all that well in my experience. Thinking back: I've had problems due to drop damage, multiple cases of sweat-infiltration damage, one case of battery fatigue (i.e. down to 1hr of battery life per charge), I've left a pair on a plane by mistake, and I gave away one pair to a family member (obviously these last two are 'on me'). To their absolute credit, Shokz's warranty program has covered all the damage issues for me (within the warranty period). That said, I feel like I need to own two (or more) pairs so I can continue to enjoy them when one pair inevitably breaks. I've also loved the OpenComm version for taking phone meetings during the pandemic (although I think I look like a goober wearing them.) Awesome product; I love it to death... over and over and over... :)

OpenRun vs OpenRun PRO

I currently have the OpenRun 8th Gen (when it was still called the Aeropex AfterShockz prior to the name rebranding thus I have the old logo). Overall, I am very happy with this product. Just recently I saw that a 9th Generation OpenRun PRO was just released to kickoff the 2022 New Year. In comparison, there's only very slight differences between the OpenRun (8th Gen) versus OpenRun PRO (9th gen), of which I will note below. So if you're currently considering on getting the PRO like I am, consider if the differences are worth it: • 8hr charge for the OpenRun versus a 10hr charge time for the OpenRun PRO. Okay yeah...I dig it :) Any extra usage time is always a plus for me especially on days when I'm too lazy to charge. • The OpenRun weighs 26g and the PRO weighs a little heavier at 29g but not a deal breaker for me. • Different placement in terms of the charging port (which is neither a good or bad thing, just an observation). • The OpenRun PRO has faster charge time of 1-hour versus the 1.5 hours for OpenRun 8th Gen (but honestly an additional 30 mins is not a big deal at all that would make me jump for joy and run out to get a PRO). I usually unconsciously leave my headphones on the charger for longer than it should anyways since I sometimes forget about it while running errands and doing other things around the house. So this additional charge feature I didn't care much about. • OpenRun is 'waterproof' (IP 67), while the OpenRun PRO is only 'water-resistant' (IP 55), which confuses me. Honestly my biggest beef here, obviously. IP rating weathers dust and moisture, so they are durable enough to withstand rainy runs, sweaty rides, or other gritty conditions. So like WHY would the new generation downgrade the IP rating??? This makes no absolute sense. Typically shouldn't new generations in anything be more advanced and not a less/downgraded version of it's former counterpart?! So I would really like to know why???? Definitely a major turn-off. • The PRO version has two bass enhancers, unlike it's former counterpart. I'm very excited to find that the new OpenRun Pro has incorporated the two bass enhancers. This is pretty much the ONLY reason why I would get the PRO because I've aways complained about how much I like my headphones except for the lack of bass and sound quality. Hoping the more premium sound quality of the bass enhancers is as advertised and worth the penny for music listeners like myself. So that pretty much sums up the differences in a nutshell between the OpenRun and the OpenRun PRO in terms of features. In comparison to everything else, all the other features are exactly the same between the OpenRun and the OpenRun PRO in terms of sensitivity, wireless range, microphone, bluetooth type, command controls, frequency response, compatibility, moisture detection, frequency, etc etc etc. I haven't bought the PRO yet given the pricetag so I'm going to wait until my birthday this Summer to get one, and again mainly for the bass enhancers and the extra 2-hours battery life, which for me are both very important to me so hoping when I do get it, that it won't be a disappointment. Another thing I want to mention in terms of its size is that I would like to see a "Mini" version of the PRO. Makes no sense to have a Mini for the standard OpenRun but not have it available for the OpenRun PRO. The "Mini" is very popular especially amongst us ladies so I'm hoping to see if there'll be one by Summer. Guess I'll see what happens when the time comes!

Overall good purchase, but kind of annoying that they don't turn off on their own.

I really like using these for my runs. They sound great and are pretty comfortable, but it I still have to get used to the fact that you have to turn them off after using them (the first time I used them I didn't turn them off and the battery was completely dead by the next time I wanted to use them. I'm used to being able to pull out my Airpods and they disconnect from use immediately and still have a good charge in them)

2nd pair!

After my first pair unfortunately fell out of my pocket and were subsequently run over, I didn’t hesitate to order another pair! I love the open ear design so you can listen to music/podcasts/other media while still being able to hear ambient surroundings. They are also even comfortable enough to sleep in if you like say listening to white noise but your sleeping partner does not.

Only complaint is the headband

Cant put my head back in a chair because the headband doesnt fit snug enough, even with the mini. So its a bit awkward trying to lounge with these on. Really wish there was a way to tighten the band, differenr band, or have an even smaller size. Also black by the ears and orange on the band would be a cool color combo

I love them! They securely

I love them! They securely stay in place when I run. The sound quality is great. Most important, I can hear other things all around as I run. With my previous ear buds could not easily jump forward or back with the songs I was listening to. With Shokz that is easy. It it also easy to adjust the volume. I’ve already recommended them to friends.
