I was on a trip and the liquor store was out of the regular Basil Hayden so I decided to give this a try. Well I never turned back. Very smooth, full bodied, and with a slight sweetness to it.

As a Kentucky brand, how could you combine yourself with Canadian whiskey? Kentucky whiskey is the first and the best.... to be diluted by Canadian whiskey is basically an insult to our history. And then adding a Californian port? Literally, the audacity... Overall, I enjoy the color when In the sun. I enjoy the overall flavor, despite the fact it tastes like something I could get from a corner store. And I enjoy the label, the only reason I bought it...

This is, without a doubt, the worst whiskey I've ever tasted. I didn't realize until I got it home that they decided to add port. It's kind of like adding mustard to bananas. It was like throwing 40 bucks down the drain. I used to be a big fan of Basil Hayden's, but will be swearing it off.

I want to know any suggestions on what to mix/chase while drinking this rye.

Complex characteristics smooth slightly sweet finish.
