Smooth drawer, deep tub

Two things make this pedestal a vital part of front loading machines, raising the door height and storage. This pedestal has a deeper tub than I had with my last machines meaning i can fit some product containers that were too tall before. Very nice.

Love It, but Basket Idea Not Well Thought Out

Very useful. Raises the washer to a better height and provides a place for storing dirty clothing until I have enough for a load. The basket is sort of weird though. Not as useful as it could be. If it was half the size of the drawer and there were two of them, that would be more useful. I keep kitchen towels in it so that I can wash them separately, but there is no way I'll ever fill up that big basket with kitchen towels. And I sometimes put other dirty laundry in it, so, if I end up with too much of that, I end up moving the kitchen towels out into the drawer and putting the rest of the laundry in the basket. Always switching it around. Or I end up storing the general dirty laundry in the washer and the kitchen towels in the way-oversized basket. It would actually be most useful if there were two baskets, one half the drawer size and another half the drawer size but partitioned down the center. That way, general dirty laundry could go into the larger one, kitchen towels into one of the smaller compartments, and delicate items in the other smaller compartment. Anyway, I don't feel like the basket was designed by anyone who ever does their own laundry. Maybe I will one day look for some different basket sizes to replace this one with or keep this one and look for two smaller baskets that will fit into the remaining drawer space. Or I could find two small baskets and get rid of the basket that came with the drawer and just put the general dirty laundry directly into the drawer. Two smaller baskets that I didn't have to make a perfect fit would be a lot easier to find. If I ever find the time, I'll come up with a workable solution. I've only had the washer for a little over a month. Overall though, I'm very happy I decided to add this item to my washing machine purchase.

GREAT FEATURE-LIFT OUT BASKER

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] BROUGHT THIS PRODUCT ABOUT 2 WEEKS AGO. STURDY MATERIAL. DRAW SLIDE IN AND OUT EASILY. LIKE THE LIFT OUT BASKET. WOULD HAVE LIKED IT ABOUT 1 INCH DEEPER. SOME OF MY TALLER DETERGENT BOTTLE CAN NOT STAND UP IN THE BASKET

Must have with front load washer and dryer

I got 2 pedestals with my new washer and dryer set and it's a must have. Especially as a tall person, it helps to not have to bend over so far. Only comment is that I wish there was a similar, less pricey option without the drawer since I don't use the drawer.

Saves the Back

We initially bought our LG washer and dryer without the pedestals but my wife soon realized that her back could not take bending over to transfer clothes to the washer, over to the dryer, and out of the dryer. The added height the pedestals afford has made life much less painful; and removes cleaning supplies from the top of the machines providing a much neater appearance.

Misalignment issue (and solution)

I had a problem fitting the washer to the pedestal. The holes to screw the washer to the pedestal were too high, even with the washer's feet fully retracted. This is a widely reported issue, but seemingly does not occur on every unit. When I swapped the washer's factory nuts (left) with (thinner) jam nuts from the local hardware store (right), the holes aligned perfectly. Nuts are M10 1.25mm fine thread pitch. The LG team should note and acknowledge the issue. Better yet, include the proper jam nuts with the pedestal and instruct customers to swap in case needed. After fixing the misalignment, product looks and works great.

Center divider option would be appreciated.

Previous pedestal models had a removable center divider. It would be nice to have both a basket and divider for use options. LG CS keep me in mind if you make one and need a tester.

Sturdy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this a few days ago. It helps raise the washer, so I don't have stoop down much to move the clothes from the washer to the dryer. The height allows me to hold smaller detergent bottles and other accessories. It could be a little taller to allow for taller containers. It's a bit pricey, but quite sturdy.

Poor Design

Drawers are not tall enough to hold detergent, fabric softener, or Shout-Out. My mom’s Bosch w/d pedestals are large enough, so I expected the same for the LG. What a waste. Did the designers even consider what people would want to store in these pedestals? The baskets can’t be pushed all the way forward or all the way back, so they waste usable space. Overall, I am disappointed in these drawers. A waste of money. They are way too expensive to not be practical or useful. If you are in the market for a washer and dryer with pedestals, consider a different brand—I wish I had.

Hi. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the LG WDP6V pedestal. We appreciate you taking the time to let us know how the storage space and drawer movement worked for you, and we understand how important it is for accessories to feel practical and supportive of your laundry setup. The pedestal is designed for lighter items such as pods, dryer sheets, and small laundry tools, and if the drawer isn’t sliding smoothly, we recommend checking that the track is fully seated and free of obstructions to ensure the drawer reaches its intended range of motion. If you’d like us to review your unit in more detail or explore additional options together, please reach out to us at lgdigitalcare@lg.sprinklrsupport.com. LG Digital Care ^James
