Disappointing Optical Department

I recently took a new prescription to my local Sam’s and ordered sunglasses, with an associate named Wendy. When picking up my new sunglasses, Wendy was busy so I told the male associate I was here to pick up an order, as he went back to get them I noticed a sign that read, “40% off additional pair, some restrictions apply” (I was told nothing of this when I purchased my glasses!) As the associate came back with my glasses and I tried them on, I asked if sunglasses were part of the restrictions, he replied “no”. I then asked if I could still order another pair since no one mentioned the offer to me? To which he responded, “no, it needed to be done on the initial order”. Not, “I’m so sorry, this happened”. He never introduced himself, or thanked me for shopping at Sam’s Club. While I am extremely happy with the frames I chose, I am just as disappointed in the optical department…customer service goes a long way.

Never going back

Unable to get the prescription right in two attempts. First was a transcription error by the optometrist. Second was blamed on glare protection or need for positioning adjustment. However, it was clearly a focus/prescription problem, making driving unsafe and reading impossible. Young technicians were arrogant and condescending, intolerant of age. They were surprised my husband knew what a diopter was, but he has been teaching college optics and labs for 25 years.
