salty funny taste

Got several packages for NYE celebration. This crab was so disappointing. We didn't even finish it and threw it out. It was so weirdly salty. The texture was stringy and just unenjoyable. I'm kind of turned off of crab now. Really can't believe how salty it was.

We bought 2 pkg for Valentines dinner. What a disappointment. Paying for the inedible butter is ridiculous. I agree with just setting the price for quality crab meat. This was not it. The high sodium allowed for increase water absorption and decreased flavor. Don't buy.

I have purchases these for years. Still good crab, but they con you with the butter now. You aren't getting 2 lbs of crabs, you get 2 lbs of "crab & buttter". Most expensive butter youl ever buy. No matter what the price has increased to, just sell crab. Don't try to fool people by filling the bag with butter to keep the package price lower.

I had purchased king crab from another store on several occasions. I happened to see this item at Sam's and gave it a try. It was so so good! I love the ease of opening the split legs. I've purchased this item twice now from Sam's and I must say so far it is the best I've purchased. I'm stocking my freezer.

Not nearly as nice as this used to be, overly salty. Worse that that, the package now has 15% of its weight substituted by 'scampi butter" Nearly 5 ounces, or 120 grams is butter at $35/lb. That is ridiculous and unacceptable. I won't buy this anymore.

a little bit off

I LOVE snow crab and have been getting it from a local restaurant so often, I thought I'd try to cook it at home. I saw this product and decided to splurge, as I've never actually had king crab before. The crab meat just isn't that good. It's got a weird texture from being frozen and a weird flavor from whatever they par-cooked it in. It's so nasty, that I'm just going to throw it away. That's $60 in the garbage. Don't waste your money. Just avoid.

I am so angry I spent a small fortune on this crab for a special dinner. I HIGHLY suspect it had been previously defrosted and refrozen! It was tough, chewy, and absolutely no flavor. It was THE WORST crab I have EVER eaten!! Shame on Sam's for selling it!!

I love seafood. However, just save your money and do not buy this product. King crab is supposed to be sweeter, all I tasted was salty brine. I can handle salty, but this was mediocre at best. Should have just got the snow crab legs and saved some cash.
