Hi Bub, The product does need to be watered in to activate but rain will cause runoff and dilution as it will be way more than the required amount of water. Additionally, rain will cause it to puddle and runoff everywhere, not just in the particular area you need treated, so please do not apply with rain in the forecast. Thank you.
