Scotch-brite sponges do a great job of scrubbing my pots and pans clean especially when I've forgotten to let them soak again overnight and they have caked on food from the night before(yuck!). The only thing I wish that could be improved is that the scrubbing pads wears out somehwat quickly thus I'm always needing to replace them and also no matter how hard you try to wring out your sponge eventually you start to get the nasty mildew smell. Hopefully one day a chemical will be added to prevent that. Otherwise, these sponges are great and I won't ever switch to any other brand for any reason.

I am one who will often go for off-brand/ store-brand products to save some change, but somethings just should not be compromised. This is true for Scotch-Brite sponges. I bought an off brand and they're not as heavy and not as durable, my loss. The Scotch Brite sponges just feel better in your hands, they get the job done and they last longer.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have bought this item since I arrived to USA since it is a recognized brand around the world. The sponge cleans well. However, after it has been used a couple of times, it starts to smell like rotten something and it appears some black spots around the yellow thing. It looks like zero hygiene. I clean it in the dishwasher and with clorox several times per week. Nevertheless, it starts to smell again. After using it, the hands smell awful. I have to wash them many times to take out the odor. I have talked to several people who use it and it happens the same to them. For this reason, they are using other brands. It is a shame that such a wonderful brand has in the market this bad products.

What have you done with my sponge? I have used this sponge for years every day and would have easily given it 5 stars but now it seems there has been a change. It is about half the thickness as it used to be and is now pretty much worthless. Please bring back the old style quickly.

I love these heavy duty scrubber sponges, they never scratch my pots or pans, they last quite a long time between replacing and disinfect very easily in just 1 minute in the microwave! I have even put them through the washer and found that also extends use between having to replace them. No other brand can stand up to Scotch-Brite, they are worth every penny.

This review is for the version of the sponge described on this web page: the one that has a rectangular shape (not the S-Wave version, where each long edge has the shape of a sine wave). This is an excellent 2-In-1 sponge. I've used these sponges for over 5 years, and I'm very happy with the design and consistent high quality. I've found the sponges handy for many types of cleaning, including cleaning: pots, pans, and dishes; counter surfaces; the inside of a self-cleaning oven (that is, for the required pre-cleaning before I use the "self-cleaning" feature); and aluminum assemblies that I fabricate for electronic projects. I've found that if I make sure to keep the Scotch Brite side of the sponge wet, and use hot water and a bit of dishwashing liquid, I can clean surfaces such as the inside of the glass window in my oven without scratching or harming the surface. I like the fact that this 3M sponge has a rectangular shape, instead of the S-Wave version, where each long edge has the shape of a sine wave. I've tried the 3M S-Wave sponges, and I don't like them. I believe the S-wave version is a flawed design for several reasons. (I plan to post a separate review of the S-Wave version.) I've read a few of the negative reviews on this page, where the reviewer says that he/she purchased a package of these sponges that had poor construction quality. The reviewer said that the sponges fell apart very quickly compared to the ones in other packages that the reviewer had purchased. I've never bought a package of these sponges that contained a poor-quality sponge. Each sponge I've used lasts a surprisingly long time. (I follow the instructions, which say to rinse out the sponge fairly often.)

My painter left drops of black paint on my front porch and the hose carrier. I was able to remove all the drops using the heavy duty sponges...it took about twenty minutes to restore my porch and the hose carrier. Those heavy duty sponges really rock.

I had a big party at my house. All my friends came. I served lasagna in these big glass dishes that I had inherited from my mother. After the party, the dishes were very difficult to scrub clean. The baked-on lasagna was impossible to scrub off. I left the pans to soak in water and went to the store. I purchased a few Scotch Brite Heavy Duty Scrubbing Pads. I used them on the dishes and they really worked! And worked WELL! Finally a product that does what it CLAIMS to do! I am very pleased with Scotch Brite Heavy Duty Scrubbing Pads and will be buying them in the future for all my scrubbing needs!

I JUST LOVE THE HEAVY DUTY SPONGE. I DO HOUSEKEEPING AND LAUNDRY FOR LYDIA MTN. CABINS WE HAVE ALLOT OF CABINS WE RENT. THE GUESTS REALLY DO A NUMBER ON THE STOVES AND THE POTS AND PANS. I JUST CAN'T GET THEM CLEAN WITHOUT USING THESE SPONGES. I CARRY THEM WITH MY CLEANING SUPPLIES ALL THE TIME. I CAN ALWAYS RELY ON THEM TO HELP ME GET THE JOB DONE. THEY'RE TUFF FOR THE JOB AND LAST A LONG TIME. I ALSO USE THESE AT HOME FOR VARIOUS JOBS. I GIVE THIS PRODUCT A 5 STAR RATING. EXCELLENT

I have used several different sponges before, but Scotch Brite Heavy Duty Scrub Sponge is my FAVORITE!! It removes all the stuck on grease and grime that is left on my stove top and my pots and pans. It has never left any scratch marks on any surfaces that I have used it on. I will have to say that my kitchen would not be complete without this sponge!!
