Battery Life

FYI - In Arizona you are lucky if a car battery will last you 3 years. Unfortunately once in a while you get a bad batch might only last 1 year or so. I have had a AAA battery last one year recently so it does happen with all brands. That's why it is important to have a free 3 year replacement on your battery. I start checking my batteries at just under 3 years to determine if they have any bad cells, then they qualify for free replacement, just an idea for you. I have a Duracell from Sams going strong at 1.5 years on a smaller car.

Not worth the hassle

Sorry but these don't last. Originally purchased 04/19, had to replace under warranty 06/21, then again 04/22 and here it is with a dead cell and wont take a charge in May 23. Not sure where these are sourced from but three bad batteries in 4 years is not only poor quality, but a major inconvenience. Sam's has great quality on a lot of things, but these batteries just aren't one of those items.

Unreliable battery failed in just 1 year .....

I have never had a car battery that failed so quickly in just a year. Yes, Sams will give me a new replacement battery since it carries a full 36-month full replacement warranty but the fact that it failed so quickly tells me it is poorly made not to mention this group 34 size is actually much shorter in height than the standard 34 size battery thus making your J hooks for fastening the strap down to be too long and essentially useless. Don't waste your time buying this brand.

There is a problem with these. Can't recommend.

I have purchased quite a few Duracell auto batteries, in various sizes, from Sams for my vehicles over the past seven years. I thought they were a pretty good value. But there is something wrong with the Group 34 size of this battery. I have had three of this type fail in the last two months, in different vehicles. The oldest one was a ways beyond its 3-yr replacement warranty, but within the 8-yr pro-rated warranty indicated on the battery (they no longer offer the pro-rated warranty on any of their batteries), while the other two were under or just at the 3-yr point. Don't know whether the manufacturer (East Penn?) is engineering them to just last 3-yrs, or whether they possibly outsourced this size battery to a different company to make. But, after my experience, and based on other negative reviews I have seen on these, I have lost faith in Duracell car batteries and am not sure I will be purchasing any more of these from Sams Club.

PURCHASE AT YOUR OWN RISK

I purchased this battery 4-14-2014 which makes it 3yrs. 9mo. old. Like so many of the other member reviews it started to fail 1-9-2018, this after being in a heated garage for 2 weeks without starting. I can almost understand if it was outside below zero for that length of time and the battery was 5+ yrs old but not after only 3 3/4 years old. And again like the other member reviews, Sams Club stands firm on the 3 yr replacement after that you got yourself a boat anchor. with no prorated credit either. Duracell needs to stick to powering bunnies and flashlights. In this case being a member of Sams Club isn't any deal. Next battery will be a different brand from a different vendor.

looks good, but beware will not hold charge.

I bought one of these in November 2011, it was fine thru May 2012 now it needs charged every time I want to start my Jeep. I thought that a full replacement for 36 months and a 8 year pro-rated replacement was a great thing but I'm still charging it as time goes on, now the receipt and warranty paper work is not ledgeable what-so-ever and it still looks good but still charge it when I want to use the Jeep!
