I would not buy these tires!!!

I purchase four Michelin (P225/50R17 93V SAVAS)tire in Augest of 2012 and as of now i have 23,000 miles on these tires. The problem is now they sound and drive like mud grip tires on a truck. These tires have been rotated and ballanced every 6,000 miles. Where I purchased these tires said that the problem was with the car not the tires, I have had the car checked out, and there was nothing found wrong with the car. I purchased Michelin tires because the car came with Michelin and did well with over 60,000 miles. These tires are bad and the dealer will not do enything about it.

Wear rating half but why?

These tires came OEM on my Chevy Bolt, I need new tires after 37000 miles. I did not rotate the tires and the front tires have no tread on them and the rear tires are just above the wear markers. I know electric cars are heaver than gas powered cars but I don't know what the wear difference is. It would be nice for Michelin to have the wear differences between the two types of vehicles. That being said I will try another brand and see if I get the same results.

They were very quiet when we started but don't seem to wear well.

We have a 2022 Lexus ES with the Michelin Energy A/S tires. Just over 10,000 miles on it we began to hear a noise in the right rear. Turns out that the tire had already begun to cup on the inside of the tire. We have since replaced them and now have another tire on the same left rear that has the same issue. This tire now has 21,000 miles on it The tires were all balanced and aligned with put on. .

Disappointed, sorry that you have experienced this twice. With two different tires developing the same wear pattern on the left rear wheel position, it sounds as if there is a mechanical issue. We'd suggest that you take the vehicle to the selling retailer for an inspection of the tires. Please have the dealer call us at 866-866-6605 8am-5pm Mon-Fri so that we can see how to proceed.

Improvement over the stock.

So far the tires are great. Much quieter road noise then the stock tires that came on my Jeep. I commute an hour to work and on very windy roads. The car handles great with them, I hope the wear will be good. Weather conditions, I have had no problems with them in the snow so far. However, I did slide sideways down my street until I hit the curb after a ice storm. The surface was completely untreated, I was going about 12 mph and it was downhill curving left (could be contributed to speed).

Not happy with these tires at 23,000 miles

These came on my 2018 Honda Clarity and I was happy to see the OEM tire as Michelin. I have been using Michelins for many years. After the first tire rotation at about 15,000 miles we notice a high level of road noise. I just had the car serviced and told the Honda dealer about it. He said they are chirping on the inside tread. The tires should be replaced. I was shocked as I normally would get 60,000 plus on my previous Michelins.

Best tyre ever used...period!

My Australian delivered gen 2 Prius came with Michelin XM1's as standard equipment. It got good economy with these tyres and they lasted 88,000km before replacement. I fitted some cheaper tyres second time round only to suffer poor ride quality, decreased fuel economy and the lasted only 2 thirds the distance of the michelins. I have now fitted 4 new Energy XM2's and already noticed a softer ride at the same pressures as well as quieter road noise and the economy will improve after intial break-in. I couldn't be happier with this product, it's simply superior quality and saves $$ in the long term analysis.

Great Product

I purchased these tires and have driven about 5000 miles on my Acura TSX. I'm seeing about a mile to mile and a half improvement in my gas mileage. They handle great on dry and wet roads and give a quiet and responsive ride. Best of all they look great on my car.

Maybe making noise????

My car is 3 1/2 years old with 20,000 miles. Rotate the tires every 5 k. They have started to make a snow tire type noise (definitely tire speed related), two dealers say nothing wrong with the vehicle. The noise has gotten louder over the last 6 or 8 months, no abnormal wear pattern felt in the tire thread. They look like new with 9/32 of thread left. Other than a few reviews about tires making noise, I still believe (after 52 years in automotive service industry) Michelin makes one of the best tires. Help please.

This is a tire that grips the road.

I purchased these tires because , I am required to keep my family safe. Safe they are on these tires. I travel a lot so I need a tire that will handle all climates. They also handle good in the curvy mountains and that's what I need to keep my family safe. As long as the tires perform good , I will be a repeat customer. As of today I buy these tires for all my vehicles and I have four. Thanks Michelin.

New Favorite, but no 22" dia tires for 14" wheels.

My last set of Michelin Defenders Green-X tires lasted 60,000 miles and 7 years. This time I chose Michelin Energy Saver A/S Green X tires, for my now rarely used, 2003 Toyota Sienna Van. The van is so much nicer to drive with new tires, again quiet, smooth, comfortable in all weather conditions and MPG is up, especially on 45-55 mph zone backroads +5 mpg. This is my new favorite tire! The van gets only 19 mph around town (27 mpg now on the back roads with A/S tires), and with all the kids gone, I decided on a smaller daily driver I found a used 2000 Honda Insight 5sp. The factory tires it are are VERY NOISY, they've worn out quite quickly and were chosen for the car 18 years ago, i.e. old technology. Traction is ok, but not stellar, so I came here first, given the Energy Saver A/S MPG gains and ride on my Van. The factory Insight tire is a 165/65/14 that weighs 12 lbs, has a 22.5 inch diameter and is mounted on a streamlined 10.5 lb factory wheel. On the flats the car has gotten over 100 mpg. Around town, on these hills, it has gets a steady 58.5mpg over the last 4283 miles. The size and weight of tires, the high gearing, a super efficient hybrid engine, low coefficient of drag of the car, and how the car is driven all adds up to a great MPG. But I want a quiet, even more efficient ride, like I now have with the Energy Saver A/S tires on the van. The problem is the smallest lightest Energy Saver A/S is a 175/65/15 tire that weighs 15 lbs, has a 24" diameter and mounts on a 15" wheel, coming from 12lbs, 22.4" dia on a 14" special streamlined wheel. I've sourced new 7.7 lb 15" non-streamlined wheels that will offset the extra 3 lb Energy Saver A/S tire weight. Yet the extra tire diameter of +1.5 inches, 165/65/14 to 175/65/15, not only messes with the speedometer and mpg gauge, the car is geared so high from the factory, that especially in first, it will be even more difficult to take off on the often wet steep uphills where I live. I'm just wondering if there will be a 22" dia, 11-13 lb Energy Saver A/S tire for 14" wheels any time soon (nothing like that in the Defender series either), or do I sadly need to buy a set of 165/65/14s from the other guys? Again, If I have to drive, I want the best MPG. The Michelin Energy Saver A/S tires are the BEST tires I have ever owned, for all around comfort, wear, quiet ride and daily driving, and a BIG PLUS to MPG, which saves not only gas and money, but reduces my CO2 toll on the Global Climate Catastrophe.
