I put this together in one weeekend mostly by myself. The Instructions are really good. I am 5 foot tall so I needed a pretty tall ladder for some of the roof parts but it worked. Did need help lifting the sides up but if you can get a friend to help for an hour doing that, otherwise you are good to go solo. I love it so much!

I am very disappointed in regards to the front top board is three pieces. Depsite us properly torqing the bolts in a circular pattern a little at a time the board is still not perfectly straight. This is the most important board in the structure. Overall I am happy but this is a disappointment.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We wanted a lean-to style gazebo to protect our cob oven and have extra room for other outdoor cooking. After pricing out materials to build one from scratch, we found it would have cost close to what we'd spend on the Saxony XL, not to mention take us longer to build without a kit, so we decided to go with this one from Backyard Discovery. We're really happy with the results. We did find out the hard way that it's best to actually follow the instructions to a T rather than assume things and "freelance," so we had to undo things a couple of times and read the instructions more carefully, but all worked out in the end. My husband and I were able to build the gazebo, including lifting the roof into place, without additional help. One roof panel was missing -- which we didn't discover until we actually opened that box when we were ready to put the panels on -- but the missing piece was shipped out to us at no cost and arrived within a few days. The only downside was that the single sheet of metal roofing wasn't braced or padded in the box, and it arrived bent. But we used it as it was, and you can't really see the bend. Overall, we're really happy with the gazebo and the customer service.

This was my mothers day present and honest has been the best addition to our backyard. We used it all summer and now into fall. I’m beyond obsessed. It’s so durable but also its so lovely when it rains or drizzles hearing it hit the roof. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking. It took quite a while to put together but the whole family loves it.

I purchased the saxony XL last summer and built it on a deck I built specifically for this gazebo. I absolutely love the functionality of the gazebo from keeping my grills protected, providing sun cover for me, to adding a beautiful conversation piece to the back yard. I added LED rope lights, a menu board and a hook for my apron. I plan to gutter the back this week. the assembly was straight forward and took a day or two working mostly alone. The roof was a four person job. I have recommended this to friends without hesitation. I just stained the whole structure this summer with Cabot semitransparent cedar wood stain. It looks great!

We bought the gazebo last fall since it was out of stock everywhere last summer, but with such solid reviews we wanted to wait…..and it was well worth the wait!! What a well built gazebo for the money and the design is so convenient having the two shelves while cooking! I can’t say enough good things! Backyard Discovery includes superior quality components with good fit-and-finish. Saxony XL Grill Gazebo is a good size for our patio. Full sized gazebos are too large and other brand grill gazebos, too small. Also, cheaper gazebos from some other brands have parts that appear inferior in quality - a few extra bucks spent here was well worth it. Flipped one countertop to the inside to better suit our needs. Added LED lights under the roof and finished it in an Olympic stain to preserve the wood and it looks great!

With prices of wood through the roof right now, a roof was out of my budget. With no protection over my charcoal grill, rain has been an issue. When I saw this at Sam's Club, I bought it immediately. The next day after assembling it, I was out there cooking some epic burgers during a very strong spring storm. Rain, thunder and lightning didn't affect my cookout at all. Assembly (for me) took 4 1/2 hours and I had to invoke the help of my wife and daughter a couple times, but it wasn't overly difficult. I would have given it 5 stars, but it didn't come with wood lag bolts for fastening to our aging deck. A trip to Lowe's remedied that. Plus, they only have 4 roof rafter brackets, and in my most humblest opinion, it should have had 6.

I bought this to put on our farm for small community activities and it’s great! It did take a WHILE to assemble. The instructions thought it would take 3 people about 6 hours to assemble - that was wildly wrong. We had four people (2 strong people, an engineer, and an architect) and it took us 2.5 days (about 16-20 hours). It was simple to follow the instructions and all of the pieces and hardware were well labeled. The app instructions were much more clear than the printed booklet. It looks excellent, we love it, and I already want another!

I love that it has the option for seating on both sides. Our pellet grill and blackstone both fit under it with room to spare. I highly recommend!
