my utility company advised me of a short shut down that was going to occur on the same day my wife was coming home from foot surgery. She is also handicapped and uses an electric scooter outside the house and a small indoor scooter and a walker inside. I had planned for some time to put a small generator in. This event forced my hand to act quickly. I still do some business travel and felt I need full system protection and not just a small generator for emergency purposes. Adam from Left Coast gave me estimates for various equipment choices, we settled in on the unit I purchased capable of carrying my whole home power requirements. The staff had my unit installed two days later, in time for the planned power outage the evening of my wife's surgery. Everything worked perfectly, power came on as scheduled, and as main utility power returned cut over efficiently. Since building our house 2 years ago and installing a 22Kw Generac from the beginning, we have had 1 hurricane, several tornadoes watches/warnings, cars hitting electric posts, and "maintenance" from the electric company which cause our neighborhood to be without electricity for hours, even days, but not us. Our Generac system fired-up every time with a smooth transitional period that lasted less than 1 minute.

This is the second Generac generator that I have purchased. The first was for a prior home that I have used for years. Whenever there was a power outage it turned on immediately like old faithful. Always there to back us up. I am now in a new home and have purchased another Generac generator for it. I was happy to leave the first generator for the family that bought my first home. I know they will appreciate having it.

Professionally installed unit and all of the piping/wiring. they did a great job. the unit recently ran for 6 hours when power was lost. it was great to see our lights, heat and well running while others were in the dark. glad we made the investment. love the mobile link feature.

It was almost three months from the installation to the first real use of the generator and it performed flawlessly. Our power was out for nearly an hour with the generator providing power after about a 30 second delay. I am just wondering why I waited so long to have one installed. My only issue is that I would like to have a set of outlets on the generator to power items outside.

So far we are well pleased with the unit, the auto no load test works well. We look forward to this test every Monday at 10:00 AM, when this happens., it gives us the good filling that we just might not be left in the dark anymore. We have only had a short outage since unit was installed so I cannot give a full opinion on the quality or operation. Bear Rock Electric installed the unit and we were very pleased with them. From the initial phone call to the estimate to the install and after care they were great. We live on the Outer Banks and finding quality contractors is rare so hopefully the unit works as well as the installers.

I know the generator runs weekly, but I have never heard it! It just sits quietly, waiting for the power to go out. Earlier this month we had a large storm, and lost power. Within a minute, the generator had started, and all I had to do was re-set the clock on the microwave. Now all the neighbors are being very friendly! This is probably the best addition I could have made to our house.

Nice complete package. I found the instructions for installation confusing. I would have liked all the specifications for installation in one place or chart. Wire and pipe sizing chart would be nice. Runs great, works great. Other than weekly exercising, it has only come on one time for about 15 minutes.

We have had 3 long outages so far since our purchase. The peace of mind knowing we had electricity and our freezers and refrigerators would keep running were worth the amount of money we had to pay for our generator. The electrician who installed it was so knowledgeable and did such a good job and since he is also a good neighbor we don't worry at all about the service we will get.
