We decided to have the unit installed for the peace of mind that with the weather getting worse we will not be without power. Looked at many units and the Generac 22K was the best we found for all the quality to construction and the ability to have our whole house powered if we have a power outage in our area. With more and more hurricanes and winter weather more extreme it give us the power that will keep our home running. The install by Charleston Electric went great. They set up all the timing for the unit to be installed, the gas to be hooked up and then the next day came out to get the unit set up and running. Look forward to many years of service keeping our family safe.

We live in a rural area and had a few multi-hour outages over the years, one that was rather inconvenient. Now we have peace of mind. I did the low-voltage wiring for load-shedding relays on the transfer switch and the installation instructions were great. An electrician and the gas company took care of the hookups. The dealer did the final startup and tests, all went smoothly. Generator is relatively quiet and handles everything we need! Just added a couple of battery backup UPSs for the computer and TV and all is protected and power outages are a thing of the past. Now the funny part of the story. The day the generator was delivered, I told the guy that we had pretty reliable power and rarely had outages, which I attributed to our neighborhood underground service. Just after he set the generator on the pad, the power went out, for 18 hours!! I could only look at the generator and think this won’t happen again...and I should have ordered it a week earlier. The underground service, though impervious to falling trees and car accidents, still can fail and took a lot longer to find and fix the issue.

I live in north Louisiana, and while we don't get the beating the guys do down south from hurricanes we do get a ton of tornados, high winds, and torrential storms, and we lose power all the time, often for days, due to our antiquated power infrastructure. Instead of waiting on AEP to fix themselves, I decided to take steps to correct the problem myself and get a Generac 24kw whole home generator installed by Precision Mechanical Power out of Bossier City Louisiana. They did an incredible job, and the generator easily powers my whole 4k square foot home including 2 central ACs. I work from home and have a older Dad who has health issues, so the peace of mind this generator gives me is amazing. The value to cost ratio was perfect, and I highly recommend Generac and Precision Mechanical to anyone in the Northwest LA area!

The purchase, installation and certified startup went very well. The first year of service with five hours of run time required three warranty visits by the certified startup company. The first warranty call was due to the generator over cranking and loose bolts on the frame. The certified startup company addressed these issues quickly. The second warranty call was due to an oil leak. The certified startup company found loose hose connections around the engine and cooler. They replaced the factory clamps with adjustable clamps. Once again they did a great job. The third warranty call was due to another oil leak. This time the certified startup company found the front engine seal leaking. This was a major repair as they had to remove the entire end of the generator. Once again, they did a great job. At this point, I started asking questions about the warranty and extended warranties. I was given the warranty registration details from the certified startup company and was told to call Generac. I called the main number and was told to call the power group as they handled extended warranties. I called the power group and was told my generator was not registered to call the main number again. I called the main number again and they stated the generator was registered and to call the power group again. Well after many calls I realized I could not fix their departmental communication problem and gave up. I do believe Generac is a good company which is why I still recommended the product. However, I would highly recommend reviewing other manufacturers offers, as I unfortunately found afterwards that they have better warranties and very good reviews as well.

I was very excited to finally get my new Generac installed. We live on the gulf coast and flooded in Harvey. We've had power surges and other electrical issues and anytime in a Texas summer without A/C wasn't feasible. We've got a really nice Wi-Fi 6 Mesh system installed in the house with plenty of range all around our property. There is no place in the house or yard where we get a poor Wi-Fi signal. The Generac 26kW uses only the 2.4GHz band, which isn't a problem, because I can create a dedicated SSID that is 2.4 GHz only, which I did. The problem is the range. Our mesh routers do not send out that dedicated SSID, only the main main router connected to the modem. Even though the generator would recognize the SSID, the signal wasn't reliable enough to maintain a connection. I had to order a $20 Wi-Fi range extender and plug it into the wall adjacent to the generator to get a strong-enough signal to maintain connection. Even now the signal strength is only 52-56%. Just go ahead and spend the money on a check TP-Link range extender and set it up on a 2.4GHz band for your generator. IT will save you a lot of trouble.

Seams to be a good item, however support stinks. I tried to download manual and spent over half an hour searching for it and came up with nothing. Tried by serial number and by model number. If you want to see complicated, go to Generac web site Do not bother to try to register the generator. Tried to, and after over an hour seeing Processing Please Wait on the screen I gave up

Ordered from Home Depot September 17th and arrived September 27th. Great delivery service. They set it down right where I needed to install. Beats paying the mark-up at Generator Super Center. The unit works great! Did not lose a beat when the power went off. The noise level was not noticeable from inside the house. Murphy Electric installed and did a very professional job.

Perfect instillation, good price, good service and a good generator. Great group of men installing the generator, works perfect and reliable. Our install crew was from Blose Electric Co , Dayton PA. A.J. Blose was a pleasure to do business with, great communication. His crew guys were very easy to deal with, absolutely professional installation, very detailed and thorough. This crew installs a whole house generator basically one every day of the week. They showed up on time and immediately got to work with our installation. Very patiently explained how the transfer switch worked and cleaned up everything when done, including fingerprints on the equipment. I can absolutely recommend this business for your installation.
