Disappointed in performance

Purchased your 10,000kw unit a year ago through Home Depot and was installed by electrician recommended by Home Depot. It was very expensive having new panel put it, etc. In the past year it has come on about 6 times and has worked well. During last ice storm noticed it was loud and sputtering snd seemed like it was ready to stall out. Propane tanks are full. This morning with Nor’easter it came on but sputtered loudly and ran unevenly and sounded like it was ready to stall out. Ran outside to shovel around it to make sure it was clear of snow. Furnace and lights kept dimming as it sputtered. Disappointed to have problems so soon. I will be paying this off for a couple more years so needing somebody to fix what is wrong is discouraging so soon after purchase. Cannot recommend this product if these problems persist.

Piece of mind

Our new generator had only been installed for two weeks to the day when our power went out due to a wind storm. The generator kicked right on and stayed on until the power company restored power. Thunderstorm season will be here soon and knowing that we have our Generac generator is certainly comforting!

Great features that meet our needs, reliable service with our local dealer,

We live in a rural Ontario region. Our concern about power stability is well founded as there are outages from time-to-time. We are very relieved to have invested in the 22kw Guardian. We received excellent dealer service and follow up on all of our questions. We have highly recommended Generac products to our friends.

Great investment

Replacing an 18 year old whole home generator. A big investment, but worry-free for any basement flooding during a power outage amongst other scenarios that can and have been avoided in the past. Metro Electric from Romeo, Michigan did a great job on the install!

Tested by Mid Atlantic snow storm of 1/3/2022

Brandon at Powertech in Hollywood MD did our install and he has been great to work with. Two close calls with ice storms last February and the disaster in Texas got our attention and we decided to install backup power. At 76 with COPD I no longer feel up to dragging the 50 year old 4 kW portable Coleman and cables the 100 feet from the shed to the house, opening the breaker to the utility, running the cable through the garage and up the steps to the dryer outlet, and keeping the generator fueled (I did this for a week in the 1990s). Brandon did our install the last week in March. We had a few very short weather related outages over the summer but the Generac didn't have a chance to demonstrate itself until 1/3/2022. We got a bit over a foot of wet heavy snow. It started about 4:30 am. The local utility started to experience outages about 5 am and by 2 pm over 45000 (about 25%) of customers were without power. We lost utility power at 10:52 am. The generator came right up and ran like a champ for the next 23 hours and 57 minutes when we got power back. We didn't realize we were back on the utility power until we got the text message from Generac that our unit was "ready to run" Coincidentally, 10 minutes after that the generator did it's weekly 5 minute exercise run. We lived normally during the outage, were the only house, other than our Amish neighbors, who heat with wood and light with kerosene, with lights. The peak load on the 24 kW Generac was about 16 kW when the outside temperature was about 19 degrees, the water heater was running due to my wife's nightly bath, and the upstairs heatpump came on in resistance heating mode. I have yet to trudge the 100 feet through the snow to the generator to check the oil (the manual specifies doing this daily when the unit is running). BTW, two days after we were restored about 4500 customers of our utility remain to have power restored. The utility is dealing with a herculean task with all the trees, poles, and lines down. We are grateful for the tireless efforts of their crews and their contractors and the crews they have brought in from other nearby utilities to help with restoration. This will be a storm to remember. Getting the Generac was the right thing for us.

22 KW Generac Standby Generater

Why did I pick a Generac Standby Natural Gas generator? There are many reasons. First, I purchased my first 15 KW Generator Standby Generator, Model 04760, in 2005. It has been through many power outages over the years and has come on overtime. Secondly, this year with Hurricane Irma, we lost power for over 60 hours and my Generac Generator worked continually with no problems. I had AC, lights, refrigerator, stove and everything else while most of my street did not. Could not ask for a more reliable unit. Thirdly, having Natural Gas to the generator provides the needed fuel without refilling anything tank. Fourth, the Automatic Transfer Switch worked just like it was design to do. This is some of the reasons, I had a new Generac 22 KW generator installed this past week. It quieter when running and Exercise Timer provides the necessary exercise of the generator on a week cycle. This is great for the unit living near the beach. Also, the new Hurricane pad is great for us that live in Florida. Could say more for the wonderful Generac Standby Generator. John Hilliard

Peace of mind!

I decided to get a generator after my husband passed away. We had a gas powered one, but knew I couldn’t start it. Best decision! I was worried about the winter & being in a cold house with my old dog. Possibly snowed in. Well worth it for peace of mind. Installation by Corbin Electric was quick and efficient. Wonderful experience, everyone was so helpful.

Can’t believe we didn’t install this before now!

Living in North Georgia Mountains is a dream fulfilled! Built our forever home in 2012 and put off buying a backup generator because of what I perceived the “high” and “unnecessary” costs would be. With mountain living comes power outages from time to time and as an avid hunter and fisherman with fruits of my outings in the freezer/refrigerator, along with our groceries, a Generac 22kw, Guardian Series, is a MUST HAVE! Super affordable, Super Quiet, and Super Satisfying! Thanks for making this forever home PERFECT!

The Best thing we did.

We live in an area where power outages happen. We are rural and are always the last group to get power restored. We invested in the Generac system last year (2022) after we experienced another power outage. I have 8 large fish aquariums and being without power is not acceptable. This year (2023-Feb) we experienced some of the highest winds in our history. Power was out for us for 5 days. Our Generac kicked on within 30 seconds of power outage and ran without pause for 5 days. When power was returned the transition was so seamless, my clocks never even stopped.

Commending the generator installer electricians

I would like to commend the two electricians who installed our generator, Nick Blakeman and Jake Blakeman, from Great Lakes Electrical Contracting. They arrived on time, worked with the plumber and afterwards with professional efficiency. When the job was done they went through some features and directions and suggestions with my wife and I, and set us up with our wifi and the app to use. They were a pleasure to deal with in every way.
