The performance was very good until it stopped performing, sound bar power went out and never came back on. Had to trash it, wasn't worth fixing, cheaper to buy another one. I will purchase a Samsung they last a long time. I only had for one year. I just got a bad apple. I will not take a chance and purchase another vizio.

I’ve had this about two weeks now and am very well pleased. It was very easy to connect to my Samsung HDTV. One thing I suggest that you do up front is to update the software because it fixes known bugs. You can go to the VIZIO website to get that update. It would have been helpful it that had been mentioned in the manual but it wasn’t.

I bought one unit in May and it started making loud crackling sounds and cutouts. They became increasingly frequent and the sound started cutting out as well. Returned to Sams thankfully before the 90 day policy expired. A year and a half later and same issue as the first. Vizio has proven to be zero quality and at $299 obviously a waste of a lot of money. If this had been a one time I could understand sometimes a unit will sneak through the cracks, but both units with same issue says the product and company are junk. Just out $300. DO NOT BUY Vizio!!!

i purchased this model because it was a Vizio product. and it was 5.1, why not get the best out of a sound bar with five speakers. being a non electronic understanding person, i trusted Vizio to make this process pain free. boy was i happy, this bar comes with everything you will need to get it going. you plug it in and it does the rest. i could not believe that it was that simple, quick and instructions easy to understand, i would not hesitate to recommend this sound bar. oh by the way the sound separation is great, the base speaker does a good job and the rear speakers (surround sound) hold their own. i had to adjust the volume so that they would not over power the sound bar. the wife's christmas present is one i will enjoy for a long time, :p

I'll start with my pros and cons Pros: - great audio quality - variety of inputs - easy to control with other remotes - simple to fine tune with the remote - a lot of features via the remote Cons - Others can connect via bluetooth randomly - If the included remote stops working, you no longer have control of the subwoofer or satellite speaker levels - initial setup starts the audio at a very high level with a very "bass high" voice saying "searching" every few seconds. Slightly more detailed review now. I've had my sound system just shy of a year now and, for the most part, it has been a great system. The audio is really nice, I like the option for night mode that turns down the subwoofer levels automatically. It has cool features like turning up the dialog for the front sound bar, fine tuning the sub and satellite speaker levels, and more options that I've been able to toy around with. The only issues I've had are with the bluetooth and, more recently, the included remote. The bluetooth actually works great, but the only problem is, OTHERS CAN CONNECT TO IT! I only went into "searching mode" when I received the product so I could hook up my phone. Turns out, after that, anyone can find my surround sound and connect to it! In the passed 11 months, I've had this happen maybe 8 or 9 times. I wish there was a way to just reset the bluetooth settings or just turn bluetooth off. I would have to factory reset and then fine tune all of my settings again. Here's where my gripe with the remote comes in. I usually use my TV remote. to control the volume and power for the sound bar, so the included remote is only used for further fine tuning or to turn other fun settings on or off. However, the last time I factory reset my sound bar seemed to disconnect my remote as well. Fresh batteries and the LED display working just fine, I cannot control my sound bar. Now I have the factory settings which makes the subwoofer FAR too loud for my tiny apartment and there's nothing I can do about it. Or so it seems. Hopefully there's a step I'm missing to reconnect the remote, but so far, it seems that I may just have to turn the subwoofer off to be able to hear my front speaker.

My husband bought this system two weeks ago and we love it! We had a surround sound system previously, but the sound didn't sync with the audio on our tv, so it was frustrating to try to use it. We haven't had that problem with this system! Its so great to be able to watch movies and feel more like we're back at the theater again.

I picked this up over the weekend , very easy to set up and the wireless sub woofer is perfect. The RCA connectors for the smaller speakers have plenty of length, and includes all the cables you need. Cant go wrong with that in the package. Sound is nice, full and rich and works great with my Vizio TV

Replaced my Vizio 42 5.1 (S4251W-B4) due to an electrical storm even though it was plugged into a surge protector. I Was very happy with that system. Was surprised the replacement had such a smaller footprint. Satellites are very small but look great and sound even better. I have watched several action packed movies and couldn't be happier. Sound is crisp, clear and loud. Remote is also a great upgrade to the previous remote. It is now backlit and easy to see and operate. Set up as before is very easy. There is no compromise. The sound is worth every bit of the price and better then most more expensive systems.

I bought this sound because I really like Visio products. The sound bar it gives good sound and the subwoofer gives the bass that I am looking for when watching intense movies. The surround speakers is very clear when someone is speaking. The reason I did not give 5 stars is because the volume goes in and out at times. I have called several times for help, but the only thing that support know how to do is to restart the system. But other than that I really like this Vizio V51-H6 sound bar.

This an amazing sound system. It is so easy to setup. The Subwoofer is already paired to the sound bar at the factory. The rear plug into the subwoofer for Real 5.1 Surround Sound. Every possible connection scenario is easily available because Visio includes all types of cables. I recommend using the HDMI cable and plugging it into the HDMI-ARC input. This automatically calls up the proper Source for BluRay, Apple TV, Roku, etc. without having to change them manually. I had a few questions and their Tech Support was spot on. Good Job Visio.
