I am 46 years old and have been in 2 bad car wrecks (neither one my fault! :-) ) and a work related accident that have left me with constant lower back pain for the last 10 years. I had pretty much resigned myself to thinking that it was something that I was going to have to deal with for the rest of my life. Not anymore. My back has not felt this good since I was in my 20's. I am getting much better sleep and overall feel so much better. I had looked at memory foam mattresses at some of the big retail stores, and never thought I would get one because they were so expensive. When I found this for a fraction of the price I was excited. I, like many of the others on here, was a bit concerned about buying without trying, but I knew I liked memory foam and thought that with the easy return policy from Sam's it was worth a shot. Am I ever glad I did! This thing is incredible. For both my wife and I it is the perfect mix of plushness with the top layer being fairly soft, but it has other layers just below that that give good support. No pressure points, just an incredibly comfortable mattress. Had I known how much better I would feel and how much better I would be sleeping I would have done this years ago and paid the several thousand dollars that the name brands charge. As others have mentioned there is a bit of chemical smell when you get it. It is not horrible and doesn't burn your eyes or make you light headed or anything, it is just noticeable. We took the cover off it (it is a soft cloth cover that just zips on and off pretty easily) and put it in the washer, and we let just the foam air out for a couple days in another room with a fan on it, sprayed Febreeze on it a couple times and did the walking all over it thing to squeeze the air out. It was still slightly noticeable when we first slept in it, not enough to deter sleep or anything, but after about 3-5 days of sleeping on it was almost completely gone and now after a couple of weeks it is completely gone. I am so glad I found this. I will never go back to a conventional mattress. If you are on the fence about getting it, stop. Just buy it. You will be so glad you did!!!! P.S. - You might want to get a loud alarm clock along with this - you are going to need it!

Have used several mattresses over the years, and this is the best so far (though used a relatively short period yet). Felt soft at first, but realized that this is just the gel 'topping'. The base is sturdy. Neither too soft, nor too firm - just right for us. I usually use thick/firm pillows, but needed to switch to a thinner/softer pillow with this mattress. Ordering was easy and the mattress was delivered quickly. Unpacked the mattress and let it set for 12 hours before placing it on bed frame. The firmness was ideal for me and the gel layer helps to keep you from overheating during the night. This combo leads to more comfort and less tossing and turning.

I love this mattress. I had really planned on buying another gel mattress which was going to cost triple the price of this one, but when I started to research I found this one and decided to give it a try. I'm so glad I did. From the moment you lay down it feels wonderful. I've had back surgery, and it's really hard to find a mattress that when you wake up that you can get up and not be sore, and stiff, but with this mattress I've not had that problem. I would recommend this to anyone who's had to deal with back issue's like me.

My parents bought this mattress for me as an early christmas gift. My mother told me to select any mattress whatsoever. So when I elected the Night Therapy Gel from Sam's Club she was appalled. She told me I could, and should, spend more on my mattress. She thought that the more I spent, the happier I would be. However, I had spent days and days researching prospective mattresses and continually returned to this one. I'm very happy with my selection. It's firm, yet soft. It's very odd. it fits to your form and seems to hold you delicately. Took only minutes to expand to its full 13 inches. Smell was not an issue. Don't spend more than you need to on a mattress.

I've had memory foam mattesses before and was skeptical of buying one on-line. Unfortunately, it turned out I was right. The purchasing process was smooth and mattress arrived on my front porch when expected. The problem began as my wife and I took it out of the packaging, it seemed crushed. This mattress had what appeared to be a 1-2.5" valley at the fold. What was worse; it sloped from the head of the mattress to the foot. (Raised at the head, flat at the foot#. We took a tennis ball and placed it at the top and it rolled off the end. #This was after the mattress was laid out on a level platform! The directions said to give the mattress 48 hours to "recover" and form its shape. After nearly a week, it didn't. I'm not an expert, but I have my doubts it ever will. And by the way. The smell everyone writes about is not all that horrible and as far as I can tell disapates within a couple of days. We returned the mattress to our local store with no problems on that end, but going through this hassle, was, well... a hassle. I gave this review 2 stars because Sam's Club at least made good on their guarantee of satisfaction. So bottom line. Beware buying mattresses in a box. It seems like a good idea, but like a fast-food hamburger... the end product never looks as good as the picture.

I purchased this over a month ago and purchased it sight unseen based on my sister in laws recommendation along with favorable reviews on the internet. I'm a 140 lb woman and I set it up myself. Came in the big box and I removed the plastic and "poof", a mattress started to appear before my very eyes. ANYWAY, as it expanded I started to become concerned that it wasn't going to be the firm mattress that I had expected or read about. It was described as firm in the description. I let it expand a day and slept on it, still thinking it was too soft for my taste and back. I got out of bed expecting the usual sore aching lower back but no pain. The mattress is very comfortable but the firmness just isn't there. I've continued to sleep on it with no complaints. It is really a comfy bed and I'm not having any stiffness when I wake up so I'm giving it a thumbs up. I didn't give it 5 stars because I feel it isn't a "firm" mattress per say. Just know that, if that's what you're shopping for.

I read all the positive reveiws on this mattress before purchasing it and thought this was the way to go. Unfortunately after about two months I told my wife I was not truely happy with it although she was. The issue was that it just was not firm enough for me, at 6'2 & 220 lbs. So returning it to Sam's & purchased a firm Serta w/pillow top hoping that the pillow top will give my wife the comfort she needs and the firmness for myself. Nice mattress, just not for my comfort.

I was reluctant to buy a mattress that I had not seen, but my spouse was determined. I am so happy that we bought this mattress! In the last 5 years we have tried 2 other mattresses: a pillow top, and plush (both top brands) and neither was comfortable. I always felt like I was rolling to the middle into a hole. This mattress is, by far, the most comfortable one that I've ever experienced!

We were in need if a new mattress and my husband and I were debating if we would buy a regular spring mattress or a memory foam one. We looked around and decided to go with memory foam. We looked some more to decide where to buy it and how much we were going to spend. We decided to go to Sam's. This has been the best decision. The best price and the best quality. Shipping was fast. Order was placed on the website on a Thursday and we received the mattress the next week on Tuesday. That night we unrolled it and it took just a few minutes to rise to the original shape. No smell at all. We have a 6 month old baby and I was a little worried about the smell that everyone was talking about, there was none. This mattress is just perfect. Not too soft or too firm. It contours your body amazingly well and relieves any pressure points on your back, legs, hips. My lower back doesn't hurt anymore. Neither do my feet. I'm a runner and sometimes I couldnt walk first thing after getting out of bed due to the pain on the bottom of my feet. My husband had a little trouble getting used to the bed but it took about a week. He said he felt like he was sinking but now he loves it. And wakes up feeling refreshed. The only complaint i have is that i wake up sweating sometimes feeling really warm in the bed. But my body temp is always higher. My husband says I am a human heater. Other than that I love this mattress and our new bed. I wish we would have made this purchase before. It is so worth it. The best $600 even spent. I am planning on buying another mattress like this one, maybe a smaller size, to start getting a guest bedroom built. So if you are debating about getting a new mattress, dont wait. Do it. And make sure you dont spend thousands of dollars. It is the best quality and price out there.
