We truly thought this was a pressure gate. It's not, you have to screw pads on the wall first then the gate is pressured onto the pads. We do like how high the gate is. We have only had this gate a couple weeks so we are not to sure how the durability will be. We don't like the latch lock system - it's made of plastic and locks weird. The bars are not far enough apart for our cats to get to their litter box so the door has to stay open a lot. The door only swings one way.

My 2 year-old is already 36-37" tall so we were looking for a gate that was "taller" than normal. As for the price we found it cheapest through Wal-Mart and we could get it delivered to the local store for free which helped. Height-wise it is good and it seems sturdy. The things I don't like are that the door opening is small. It's not always easy to get through especially with a squirmy toddler. And he can push the gate over. I guess you can screw the thing to the doorway, but I really didn't want to do this. Oh, the other thing about it being taller is he can't see the latch to figure out how it opens. I would recommend it, but be prepared to put holes in your doorways/walls.

I purchased two of these gates to block my dog in the kitchen when we leave the house. He seems to be somewhat of a magician. Any barricade I've put up, he gets through. These are very tall, with no chance of him jumping over them. They're nice enough to leave up for periods of time when we are home, but easy enough to remove when they get in the way. The price compared to other gates I looked at, for the quality and height, was much better than others I found.

We bought this because our yellow labrador has learned how to open all of our doors. This gate is tall enough and sturdy enough that even when he jumps up on it, there's no way he can get over or knock it down. He also can not open the gate as it has a sturdy "lock" on it. We ended up buying three of these for two doors and a hallway. Was easy to put together. Would recommend to others.

The gate works... assuming that whatever the gate is trying to impede won't actually lean up against it. You see, there are two "pressure" screws on each side of the gate, but you cannot tighten the top screws very much, or else the gate won't close (due to thinning of the gateway). However, because you cannot tighten the top screws, be prepared to be creative in finding ways to hinder the movement of the top portion of the gate, especially if you have medium to large dogs that like to jump up...

If you need a tall gate like we did, you can't beat the price on this one anywhere (trust me, I've checked)! With it being pressure mounted it can' t take a lot of pushing without actually screwing the mounting cups to the wall, we were not able to use the cups for our particular application. But if you use the cups, I think it would be very sturdy. And it's really tall! We used it for a very high jumping dog and she can't come any where near the top! And the vertical metal bars means she can't climb it either!

This gate is tall and does the job. This gate is very tall and very narrow. I am 5’4 and when I am carrying a sleeping child through it is difficult. I either have to stand on my tippy toes to left them over or turn just right to get through. The height is great for opening the latch it is right there and seems very secure. Overall we are very happy with it – great for older children that can get over a regular sized gate.

got this gate to keep my two great danes from stealing food. the sight of a 25 lb. ham disappearing out the back door was too much for me. (yes, they can turn door knobs) it works perfectly: tall enough so they cant walk over it; fastens tight enough so they cant unlock it; sturdy enough so they cant bull-doze it. the measurments for door-way width aren't accurate. its very awkward to put together. solved the swinging gate problem by taping it shut with a thin sliver of duct tape. but once it was in -- magic!

I bought this gate for my black lab. It was so easy to install. The extra tall size is perfect for the dog because he cannot jump over it. The gate is very durable. I've gone through 3 other smaller gates but this one has lasted the longest by far. I would recommend it to anyone in need of a gate. The only problem I can see with this gate is that the opening to walk through is very narrow. Other than that, the gate serves its purpose very well.
