Great for chickens

This is the type of basil that smells like licorice and therefore does not have that tangy, don’t know the word, taste and smell of the Italian Basil. I see it has good reviews, but just not my style. You would think they’d stick with the more popular type.

Opened it up and it smelled like anise. It's Thai basil, which I don't like. It should be written on the label what variety of basil it is. I just assumed it would be a sweet variety. Had to throw away.

It had bugs in it. Never saw bugs in a spice in my entire life until now. I noticed that the basil looked clumpy but just used a spoon to break it up. Fortunately I was prepping the ingredients ahead so it didn't make it into my dish. Bugs crawling out of it! SO GROSS! I'm creeped out again writing this.

Very little aroma and flavor. I was really disappointed in this Member's Mark Basil, as I've been happy with other seasonings from Sam's Club. I bought two containers, and wish I hadn't bought any =o/. This product was just meh. Debating whether to use the second container or just toss it. I'll probably end up mixing it into feed for the chickens, lol.

Where is this stuff coming from? I wish I could give it zero stars. I like to return the product. I hope Sam's club will read this and respond.

I have always had great experiences with Member's Mark products but this one is going back to the store. It is bitter and smells like there is something mixed with it that is not food-based. Definitely do NOT recommend.
