Whoever designed this and whoever approved it is a sadist. Someone that wants to further frustrate an already frustrated world and they need to be fired. Its really pretty. Super affordable. I ignored the previous reviews about the protective wrapping and boy, do I get it now! Prepare to spend a lot longer than planned and have a drink on hand while you unwrap this thing. I would've paid more if it had an easy to remove wrap. This thing is ridiculous and needs a redesign.

I've wanted one of these for at least 2 years now, so when I saw it on sale, I snatched it up. However... Holy cow, was this a nightmare to set up!! I carefully unwrapped it from the bubble and plastic wraps and lifted it up by the body, hoping all pieces would sort of conveniently fall into place. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but the tangled, knotted, cluster muck of a mess of wires was NOT it. It took me almost 40 minutes to get the legs and wires untangled and straightened out. When I say that every wire was wrapped, tied, knotted, twisted, and looped around every other wire, I am not exaggerating. It was a chore to get everything straightened out! I almost gave up and called it a loss. Once everything was sorted and in the right places, assembly was very easy! No tools required, everything was clearly labeled, things went together as they should, and I even got extra wing nuts. The body is beautiful and arrived with no faults that I can tell. But then I discovered that there were no instructions on how to change the light modes... I assume it's the little button on the white box where the wires all connect. The lights function, however, despite how we press - or how hard - the light mode just won't change. So, for now, she's stuck on the blinky, trailing mode. I hope I'm missing something, because I didn't buy the extra protection plan and I've wanted one of these for soooo long... I'd really hate to be disappointed by receiving a faulty product. I'll fiddle with it again when it's not raining or nighttime, and cross my fingers that I overlooked something. Aside from all of that, she's absolutely stunning. I wish I could give her 5 stars - and I would, if it were based on aesthetics alone - but we've had a really rough start.

So very dissapointed in this. The plastic feels flimsy, it was not easy to assemble. In fact one of the white prongs broke while trying to hold it in place while trying to screw together. Also the plastic coating over the spider is horrible to peel off. It leave pieces behind. Before you buy this spider, know that it is plastic held together with little zip ties. I'm not looking forward to taking it down, it may never go up again.
