Greasy and grisly

These tamales are terrible. They are so greasy and somehow don’t have much flavor. The quality of the meat is very poor too. Lots of gross, chewy chunks of fat and hard bits. The previous tamales were more dry, but much better quality. I won’t be buying these again.

Delicious!!!

I was shocked when I seen them and had to buy them to try them I make them myself I've had them several different establishments and let me tell you these are the best tamales even better than my own. I hate to say this because now I think people will be running to Sam's to buy them and they will be none left for me to buy when I need them!!!

What a tamale should be.

My wife grew up in AZ, and had many 1st generation Hispanic American friends and co-workers make tamales from scratch. She said these remind her of what they made. They weren’t “slimy” like you usually get here in Ohio, even when made by so called “authentic” restaurants. Texture of the masa is spot on and the flavor of the filling is good. Do you find the occasional seed? Absolutely! But, if you are eating anything that resembles authentic and expect not to have seeds, then you have unrealistic expectations. Same goes with getting bits of gristle in the meat. The potential exists in all ground meats to have that. I’ve found it many times in W’s and MD’s burgers. Will absolutely be buying these again.

Real good

I was raised in California (SD) so had plenty of tamales growing up and these were delicious. Idk why the bad reviews. Maybe because y’all put it in the microwave? It wasn’t too greasy, but there was some to be expected because of the pork. It’s like asking for pork chops or bacon with zero fat. Impossible my friends. Do the boil in bag method, you will have the best results. Great breakfast topped with shredded cheese and a fried egg.

Padrino Foods Tamales | Mejor de lo mejor!

We moved from the West Coast to the South and our love for authentic Mexican food left us with our head in our hands because here, they smother everything in white cheese sauce and call it Mexican. We came across Padrino Foods tamales at Sam's Club and were amazed and delighted not only were they delicious and authentic, but the company and its employees are genuinely dedicated to producing authentic Mexican tamales with love and care. They are passionate about their product and we wanted to share it with you. If you love Mexican food (especially tamales), you CANNOT PASS THESE BY and not pick up a pack or two! Make some homemade Mexican rice and beans and let the dancing in the kitchen begin!

Inferior to previous brand

I purchased the previous brand numerous times and that product was excellent. I just purchased this replacement brand "padrino foods" for the first time today...and the tamales are AWFUL. The taste and texture of this product is extremely poor. I will not purchase again. Please bring back the previous product.

Some of the best

Bought the pork tamales before Christmas. Had them around Christmas. 5th generation Texian. Have had many tamales in my 70+ years in Texas. These were good. Yes some grease. What do you expect from pork ? Also some chili pepper seeds. Nothing new there. Quite large and very filling. Served these with homemade Texas chili, and homemade queso blanco. Will be looking for more.
