Great tall gate!

Great quality! There price was reasonable. But. The doorway is VERY narrow. Both hubby and I have to go through side ways. I'm sure it was in write up, I guess it was just hard to imagine the narrowness. Love the tall height as well. The dog can't scale it like the other one we had. Good gate!!

Great

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this for my honest review. I'm a mom of four kids and I just had my fourth kid I use to use the place ones that you had to move or you had to step over it. I'm absolutely in love with this gate especially since you don't have to move it all the time!

PIECE OF JUNK

This was the biggest waste of time of a product I have ever bought. I would recommend not wasting your time with this horrible piece of junk. It's not built well. Hard to put up. Just all around a bad product. Do youself a favor don't waste your time. The only good thing was I only owned it for about 1 hr before I returned it to the store.

The older version was better

I had the older version to corral my lab mix dog. He eventually wore the lock out through brute strength and broke the hinge, so I bought a new one to replace it. It's more complicated to open for the humans (he hasn't figured it out yet) and only opens one direction, not two like the older version did.

Sturdy Gate/Easy Set-Up

This gate arrived very quickly, and I found it very easy to set-up. I ready thru the instructions a couple of times just to get each step fixed in my mind before beginning. The outer box it was delivered in was beat up and torn, but the product itself was in great condition. I am using it to keep cats separated, and my smallest one got her head inbetween the gate opening and first rail, so I taped a large bathtowel around that post, and now she can't get her head stuck. I also had to place another small wooden gate over that one since the cats have springs in their legs, so the handle mechanism necessitated my placing the second gate a bit higher than I really wanted to in the door frame. This set up works just fine so far though.

Regalo - Easy Step Extra Tall Walk-Thru Metal Gate

Wonderful gate... will get another one soon... Keeps our terrier in the sunroom while away. A regular baby gate he can climb in a few seconds. This is top notch quality, easy to install, gate opens easily and does not close behind you (which is what we want so dog has access to water dish in sunroom while we're home). Absolutely perfect!

Regalo Easy Step EXTRA TALL Gate

Shipment arrived quickly. Gate is simple to install and works well. We foster young dogs and use the gate to close-off our den from our bedroom. Gate is tall enough to stop energetic dogs ( like Jack Russels) from jumping over to escape /explore the rest of our house. We are pleased it seems quality made, installs easily..and most of all it works.

Just what we were looking for!

Our first gate did not keep our daughter as secure as we wanted, since she discovered how to climb it and we began to worry that she would fall and hurt herself. It is not possible for her to climb this gate since it has vertical metal bars. It is also too tall for her to reach the top and hang from (as though she were doing chin-ups), as she had also done with the first gate. It was definitely worth the time to wait for this gate to be delivered, since the price was much better than we had seen in other stores!

Good gate for the price

For the price, its a great gate. Its tall, just like we needed. Easy to put up. No screws in the walls. Door width is perfect for me to walk though but everyone else has to turn slightly to completely to the side. We got this for our dog and pet pig so its perfect for us. The dog can't just over it.....yet (she's a boxer) and firs tight enough so the pig can't plow through it like the wooden ones. Wish the door swung both ways. That would be my only complaint. For us its really not that big of a complaint but I can definitely see where it would be an inconvenience to some.

Gate is too narrow, DOES require tools/perm. mount

One thing wrong about the Walmart.com description is that it says no tools required (ie. pressure mounted). The very first instruction on the manual says you must screw caps into the door frame or not use the product due to safety problems... so Walmart is right that you could TECHNICALLY pressure mount it & leave it be, but the manufacturer specifically forbids one from doing such, as it could pop free. The design itself is poorly thought out. It is well constructed from what I could tell, but the gate portion, ie what you have to fit your body through, is very narrow (about the same size as a clothes hanger). Hold a coat-hanger up to your midsection and see how much room is left to get an idea of the opening size. I myself have a 36'' waist, which I don't feel qualifies me as much larger than average, and it was a tight squeeze for me. A lot of the reviews stressed carrying babies & items through the gate as being a tight fit: let me clarify... walking through this gate, even empty-handed, without turning sideways is a tough proposition. Again, seems nicely made, poorly designed. Does have to be mounted semi-permanantly through use of wall cups, and an approx. 20'' opening is much too small to be practical.
