This gate does the job but compared to another gate the locking process is more complicated. It is best done with both hands and the gate opening is very narrow. For the money and the location where I needed the gate, it is a good value. I would not want this in a high traffic area due to the narrow opening and more cumbersome lock.

This gate was to small for my for my normal size door way. With the extender, it was to big. I went to the regalo website, and they want to charge almost $20 for a smaller extender. I emailed their company, and left voice mails... Tried to see if they would do anything for me. They would not even respond back to me... So I returned it to walmart, and will never buy Regalo again.

So my soon to be two year old has figured out almost every gate we have owned, until now! This gate is the perfect height so she can not move the dining room chairs over to the gate and climb over like others. The locking latch is perfect because we can slide it over with our hands covering it so she doesn't see what we are doing, which means she can't figure out how to unlatch it! You do need to screw it into the door frame but that wasn't an issue. The only thing I don't particularly like is the bar on the bottom that you have to step over, it is about an inch high, we haven't tripped over it yet and hopefully we won't. Another thing I would like to point out is that the gate opening is not very wide so it is a little tricky carrying my toddler and diaper bag through it but I have gotten used to it. Overall this is the best gate I have ever purchased! I would recommend it to anyone with kids or pets.

I've tried numerous gates, but was disappointed in all, but this one. I used to have to climb over previous ones and they all broke after little use. It looks nice and I am so pleased. I would recommend this gate to anyone...very easy to set up. unlike other reviews I've read...stays up very well without bolts and screws. I would feel safe having it for a child although I'm using it for a pet.

The gate was high enough to keep children. My only issue with it was the entire gate was not long to reach the wall. I had to remove a part of the gate in order to make the gate work. After I took the one piece of the gate off I had to use screws from another gate to make it completely work.

Love this gate!!! I have 3 big dogs and I didn't want them in certain rooms and this did the trick. It is tall so they can not jump over it and it is very sturdy. It also was a synch to put together. I made it more secure by driving in the screws it came withalthough I really don't think I really needed to but still glad I did!!!

If you need a tall gate like we did, you can't beat the price on this one anywhere (trust me, I've checked)! With it being pressure mounted it can' t take a lot of pushing without actually screwing the mounting cups to the wall, we were not able to use the cups for our particular application. But if you use the cups, I think it would be very sturdy. And it's really tall! We used it for a very high jumping dog and she can't come any where near the top! And the vertical metal bars means she can't climb it either!

Our new puppy was chewing our wooden gate up. Then within weeks she was able to jump it without breaking a sweat. I started researching tall gates and found this on several websites at double the price. This is a sturdy gate. And very tall. There's no way she will be able to jump it even when she is full grown. It does have 4 small pieces that attach to the walls (Which I wasn't expecting). But you could take it down pretty easily if you wanted. I had this delivered to the store - which saved us $ and we have had no problems with it so far.

I've had three different gates before this one, and this is by far the most sturdy gate. Neither my kids nor my boxer can knock it over, and I really can open it with one hand. **I used different screws to install the gates because the screws included, I felt, were too short**

The idea of this gate is great. However, we have a pretty standard stairway and the gate is too small we have to unscrew the tighteners so much that if you bump it a little it falls over. If we put the addition on, it is WAY too big. I got this gate for my miniature pinscher and he can fit right through the sides of the gate so we had to put 2x4's in where we had to loosen the screws so that he couldn't fit through. Also the handle is inconvenient. Its good for kids because it's kind of tricky for children, but when you have arms full of groceries it is very annoying.
