Gate was like my previous purchase, but the latch at top was different. This gate only opens in one direction. Worked for my situation.

I bought one of these gates off another site then bought a second one from here. The height is perfect but the opening is so narrow everyone has to turn sideways to enter the room. It's not at all good being ONLY pressure mounted. I threw the screws and holders away on the first gate since I didn't think I'd need them for a standard doorway but you will need to install these...it's not an option like it states. It slips constantly but you can only tighten so much or the gate won't shut. The supposed 'rubber' grips are more of a plastic material(hence why it slips). When you shut the gate, you lower the lever to keep the gate closed, you push down to hear a click to lock it. I can unlock easily with one hand but others have to use both hands. The second one is installed with the 'optional' screws & cups and is very sturdy. So besides being narrow and not stable as pressure mounted only-it's a wonderful piece that I wish I had discovered sooner!

I purchased this to use as a cat gate. We needed to keep our cat out of a room without having to install a full door. This works wonders for our situation because the cat can't jump over it or fit through the bars but yet my 4 year old son can easily open it himself. The locking mechanism is a basic baby gate spring loaded lock so in my opinion it's easy for a 3-4 year old to figure out. I would definitely recommend this gate to anyone, it's a great value and a great product.

I purchassed this gate to keep my dogs in one section of the house away from my baby. One of my dogs can jump over every other type gate we purchased. I Love the height and verticle desgin of the bars. THIS GATE WORKS. I wish I would of purchase this sooner. It needs to be in stores not just online

I have 3 kids and 2 have special needs so I need to be able to keep them in certain areas of the house to keep them safe. The other gates I have seen were way too small or flimsy. I needed something very sturdy and tall to keep my 7 year old at least somewhat contained. The problem is that he figured out how to open it with literally seconds. He looked at it from one angle then another and then opened it right up. I will be purchasing an alarm to put on it so I can tell if he opens it.

Great quality! There price was reasonable. But. The doorway is VERY narrow. Both hubby and I have to go through side ways. I'm sure it was in write up, I guess it was just hard to imagine the narrowness. Love the tall height as well. The dog can't scale it like the other one we had. Good gate!!

This gate is working fabulous so far! I brought it to keep my kitty out of the living and dining area. She loves to hide under our table and lounge on the chairs where she transfers all of her hair. She has also been known for swinging on the Christmas tree. I have a six year old and he is able to easily open the gate which is great! The installation process was also pretty easy. I suggest that you use the screws enclosed to keep the gate in place. My kitty is smart and on the heavy side so she could easily push the gate over if it where not anchored in place.

We use this at the bottom of our stairs to keep the cat out of the bedrooms. It works great!! It's tall enough to keep her from jumping the gate and the bars are close enough together to keep her from squeezing through. And it was a fraction of the price of similar gates!! The latch for the walk-thru feature is super easy to use! I highly recommend this product.

I loved this gate but realized it was to small in entrance way walking through if you are a big person this gate is not recommended. they do come in extra wide and are perfect I haven't seen the extra wide on Walmart site but I did find them elsewhere and purchased 3 and Love em. don't get me wrong just I am a bigger lady with a belly and it didn't work out well until I bought the wide ones, wish Walmart would carry them same brand just wider entrance opening to walk through. Oh and it is easy assemble on all these types gates.

Like a lot of folks reviewing this gate I bought it to control our dogs.We have a shorter gate but a couple of our dogs could jump over it,this one has stopped that. The gate is well made & the black finish is nice..but there are 2 things that I wish were different. First one is I wish the product was just a little bit wider so you didn't have to spread the the stem mounts out so far in an average door way,it makes it a bit unstable.But it does come with some wall mounts to secure it better,so that helped.And the actual entry gate could be a bit wider. Secondly the gate has a stop at the bottom(which I intend to cut off) which prevents it from swinging both ways.So depending on where you install it,it has swing either in or out & it gets in the way.But like I said I'm going to fix that problem. The gate is tall,I'm 6'2" & the gate comes to my waist.As I previously mention the walk through is a bit narrow,so I could see it being a problem for a shorter person walking through carrying a child or basket of clothes etc. Also when the latch is fully latched with the locking mechanism in place it's almost a two handed operation to open it. With all that being said it's still a good product & fits my needs but may not be the right gate for some folks. As far as the ordering & shipping,that all went smoothly & actually got the gate one day earlier than expected.....
