actually better than watching a YouTube video. was and easy build but it definitely takes at least two people three preferable. very impressed by the way the instructions were given. pay close attention to which way the board's Mount lining your holes up. highly recommend

I bought this a week ago and I love it. I paid to have it put together and they were done within an hour. It's a great addition to my back yard.

Not a two person project! Or afternoon build! Post to post is not 9x11. 8 to 10 is closer. If i was to do a do over id pay to have it built!

My wife and I and another couple put it up in 4.5 hours. The directions were perfect. Thanks Sam’s Club.

This was not made for any wind or weather conditions in the coastal area of the south east, needs a upgraded post system!

We spent quite some time searching for something that truly reflected our taste, yet would stand the test of time. When we finally found it, my husband assembled it with ease (with a little help from our sons-in-law). He finished it with the recommended lacquer, and the result is simply beautiful—better than I had imagined. He placed it thoughtfully where our two wisteria plants grow, training them to climb and frame the structure. It has created a stunning, peaceful shaded retreat, reminiscent of the Tuscan countryside—right here in NYC. We absolutely love it and look forward to enjoying it for many years to come.

This beautiful 10" x 12" pergola has completely transformed my rather plain backyard into an inviting retreat! I have enjoyed sitting underneath it almost every day since it was installed a month ago and continue to derive enjoyment every time I look at it! I did my research and learned that Backyard Discovery has the highest recommendations in all different kinds of recreational kits, which was confirmed by my handyman who had previously put together BD playsets. He had absolutely no difficulty sealing, assembling, and then anchoring the pergola. I am so happy!!

Purchased a month ago. After waiting for a landscape project to be completed and applying a protective sealant I installed it a couple days ago. I am 59 yrs old and was able to install in myself. The quality is on par with the cost of the product. I am a woodworker and could have made this myself. Saved a lot of time and money.

I purchased the Pergola about a month ago while on vacation and fortunately a neighbor was able to put the two boxes into my garage until I got home. I finally was able to put it together with my wife's help and now just waiting for a patio to be built with footing before we put it onto it's final spot. It was a good DIY Project with a few difficulties but it was engineered well and was easy to follow the directions on paper and combined with the Built App.. I put a coat of waterproofing on the pieces before putting it together using a BEHR Water soluble, transparent product. It looks great and we look forward to having it in our yard for years!

I thought the measurements were wrong at first, but it measures 12 x 10 from the top portion of the pergola, not from the base but its an easy set up, looks great and just the perfect addition to the backyard.
