It adds an entire outdoor living area and so much charm to backyard! We put the plastic sheets over the top so we love to sit outside when it's raining! Highly recommend this pergola!

Our home is always changing--inside & out; & every change creates a new "pop":. This time we added a room!! It all started after switching out the last section of old board decking to brick, matching the rest of the existing bricked deck--improving both the look & function of our yard. But, looking out at the expanse of this all brick deck, even with colorful furniture & our usual riot of plants, something was missing. Somehow, we needed to frame that section, a place where we entertain and also shelter a lot of plants. (I'm a gardener). It's Florida; summer sun is merciless on human skin and, more importantly, all of our plants shriveling in our summer heat; they can't hop up and escape into the AC. What we needed was a pretty shelter from direct sun; we needed a pergola! And this baby is a champ. Ordering was easy, the perfect size for our spot, delivery on time; my husband Bill added 2 applications of weather coating, we hired the brick guys to assemble it (we are old :-)). And now we have more than a pergola; it is a ROOM-- partly nestled under our old magnolia, decorated by our happy shaded plants, and furnished by our colorful furniture (I am a painter), the pergola frames it all and creates the perfect space whose form is lovely and which functions to give us what we needed: a solid, sturdy, shade-providing structure. We already have subprojects planned: our copper pelican perches on the top corner; to add even more shade, we are installing lattice panels over the widely spaced roof slats, and we are adding electric outlets for some good old Florida fans, also hanging solar lights to line the top structure. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It all started because I needed a place to mount some solar panels. Skipping ahead (past a flimsy aluminum pergola that failed in the strong winds), I came across a 12X16 cedar pergola kit that seemed too good to be true. It wasn't! So after spreading out all the fragrant cedar pieces under my carport, I set about learning how to pour cement piers so I could transform an unused portion of my backyard into a relaxing home vacation spot. The instruction book was concise and easy to follow. All of the hardware was included, even with a few spares. The wood pieces were all cut perfectly. Only a couple of the top boards were warped, but by carefully tightening their bolts all the warp disappeared. I could have easily called for replacements, but didn't need to. When I first looked at all the parts and my untidy dirt area, I was skeptical. But carefully going through the instructions I was able to build this beautiful wooden pergola for which I constantly get compliments. As you can see, I have not even built a deck or poured a slab yet, but it is already being enjoyed. Oh yes, and those 4 heavy 400 watt solar panels that started it all now rest neatly on top, providing shade and free power. It's the good life!

This is a great Pergola. It was delivered with two boards that were day. Called customer service. Very nice helpful staff. Two days later I received two replacements. Spent one day treating all the wood with a wood present stain. Then one day to assemble. Used the BILT app for instructions. Went together like a dream. Great product. Very pleased.

Bought this one from Sam's 2 years ago and am still in love with it. Easy to assemble= good instructions. The wife and I frequently chill under this and I camp under it about 10 times a year (sling a camping hammock between the support posts). Awesome product, I would buy again.

Took my wife and I about 4 hours. Instructions are easy to follow. I was truly impressed with the way it went together. All the pre-drilled holes lined up perfectly. It looks great too. I can’t express how well “machined” all of the parts were. Sometimes, assemblies can be frustrating. Not this one. It was actually enjoyable, to some degree. We are happy with it. Hopefully, it holds up through the seasons.

Purchased this in June 2022 and my wife and I assembled the entire thing. It's not difficult just time consuming. It took us about 10 hours but again not difficult to do. The instructions are well organized. We put together most of the pieces in the garage and carried them to the back yard for total assembly. We have at least 5 neighbors who have asked questions and compliments us on it. We installed some roll shades as well for the afternoon sun and it's perfect. I expect to do a protectant stain coat this teak to keep the color so the cedar doesn't start looking gray like cedar does when it's weathered. Keep in mind this is Chinese cedar which is a bit different than American red cedar, but for the price, and knowing what you're going to get, you can't go wrong.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this 6 months ago and it has been a great addition to our backyard! Shipment was fast and all the parts were labeled and easy to separate by using the instructions. The color we chose makes it so easy to decorate around and the boards at top make it easy to add lighting to. Having the power source on the side works perfect for electricity as we've plugged fans, phones, and radios up to it numerous times. The structure is very solid and we get so many compliments on it. We also waterproof sealed it to protect it as recommended. Definitely recommend this product!

Altogether a good product. We put it up Christmas Day and Boxing Day, with some help from my brother who was visiting. There were some boards that were a bit warped but it wasn't enough to keep it from going together. We did need to re-drill a few holes that didn't line up properly, but we had tools so it wasn't a problem. AND they included extra hardware of every kind, which we didn't actually need with this kit but have with others (which can be a real nuisance). The least satisfactory issue was the freight company, Estes Freight. It sat in the Phoenix warehouse for a week before they got it out to us, and no-one there would answer the phone or return our calls.
