Works, saves a lot of time and if done properly and not carelessly by scanning the entire instrument and checking if your fingers and everyone else's are out of the way is much safer than cutting them by hand. The cutting blade needs to be a little ways down from the top of the potato to keep it from breaking.

My wife hated to peel potatoes, so I bought her this for one of her Christmas gifts, kinda as a joke. She opened it, kind of laughed at such an item....then we tried it out. I think she was amazed how fast and easy it does it's job. We have only used it a couple of times and not a lot of potatoes yet, but so far, works great. From what we have used it, I would recommend this product.

I had seen it in action in a kitchen that puts out 200 meals a day. It peeled 20 pounds of potatoes without a problem and much quicker than peeling by hand. Yes, it does leave some on the bottom and top of the potato but it's a quick trim and your cooking. Had to have it and it has not diaappointed.

After Dr. Oz said that apples should be peeled because they are the fruit most contaminated with chemicals, I giggle when I see how fast it can peel an apple, an orange, cucumbers. I haven't tried anymore fruits or veggies (potatoes) yet, but I'm sure I'll have the same success. I use Walmart bags underneath connected to the cabinet door to catch the peels. I recommend this product.

I received my potato peeler for my birthday in August and I use it about 4 times a week. I love it! I have arthritis in my hands so this has been a godsend for me! My only problem now is my blade is too dull and I didn't have and replacements with mine. I guess they got left out. I can't find a place to order them. Help!.

This little gadget is perfect for me! I have arthritis is my hand and peeling potatoes is painful. I peel potatoes like I peel apples so my hand really hurts, and on Thanksgiving I peel 10 pounds. This peeler is wonderful, just put the tater on the stand, press the button and within seconds it's ready for the next one. It is all plastic, so nothing heavy duty or fancy, but don't let that fool ya!

This product should save time but that's only if it works. Did not peel the first potato for me after waiting 3 weeks to be delivered to the store from an online purchase. Extremely disappointed so I returned it immediately. Of course no one reimburses you for running back & forth to the store. Ughhh.

Works better than expected - even on wonky potatoes!!! Worth every penny for making mashed potatoes for a crowd. Leaves some skin at top and bottom, and its pretty loud - but no big deal. Potato peel comes off in one long strand, so clean up is so easy. I left mine with sis for holiday meals and I'll probably buy a 2nd for myself. (Apparently it will even peel a kiwi. THAT I'll have to try.)

I got this because we grow our own potatoes and have lots of peeling to do. This is perfect! I only gave 4 stars though for meeting my expectations because it leaves the ends a little undone. Other than that, I am very pleased. I have this peeler on my counter for easy access and everyone is interested to get one after I told them the price and showed how it works. Love how it does potatoes as well as apples. Worth the money and saves me time in the kitchen!!!!

Was easy to use and clean up. Worked well. Just wish it peeled a bit closer to the top and bottom. I have used it on potatoes, apple, and pear. Much faster than hand peeling and a lot easier. Plus you end up with these cool long strips of skin which my kids thought were fun. Have only just used it a few times, so I couldn't really rate the durability. It comes with some extra blades for when the first one wears out. If you make a lot of mashed potatoes or apple pies, you should get one of these - it will save you much time.
