Peel Apeal

I love this item, it fast and save time.I especially like the thinness of the peel, it lets you keep more of your fruit or vegetables and it's not messy. Light weight and easy to store. You still have to use a knife for the top and the bottom to peel, but I will still recommend it.

This is crazy fun

Although I ordered this the week before Thanksgiving, it didn't arrive until the day after, when I didn't need it. So it sat in its box for 3 months. Over the weekend I decided to unpack and try it. It's so much fun! I even used it to make potato strings that I roasted in my air fryer. You could make zucchini "noodles" with it or anything. It's so simple, yet cleverly designed. Honestly, I figured it was going to be something I would decided to return, but I actually love it! Use it to peel potatoes, apples, whatever you want. Really fun to watch. It is a bit noisy, though.

Amazing

I got this for my wife after I watched the You Tube video on this item and it works really well but you have to understand you aren't going to get all perfect potatoes and it will skip on the indented parts of the potato but otherwise it saves you a lot of peeling and you have to peel the top and bottom part that holds the potato and great gifts .she loves it ..

Peeler appeal

This item was a gift for senior with arthritic hands/fingers. The ease of being able to peel potatoes for her daughter and 3 grandchildren has brought her much joy. The peeler also does apples and other fruits with ease. When in use...be sure to mount food product and secure properly in order to get full benefit. Great gift to offer speed and pain free preparation of food to anyone.

Skeptical, But Surprisingly Impressed

At first, my husband and I were both skeptical that this product would work up to our expectations but we figured for $20 it was worth a try. We were surprisingly amazed and impressed how well it functioned. It was fast and easy. It didn't hit all the spots and there were a few that I had to strip off by hand but, hey ... NO COMPLAINTS!! This gadget really saved us so much time. Next thing I know, I turned around and he was done peeling about twenty apples and a dozen potatoes in about as many minutes. So it was my turn to take over and finish up with canning the apples, and making dinner with the potatoes. Also I have to add that I usually don't bother with surveys, reviews, etc but I just had to add my 2 cents on here. The kids even joke that it was the best $20 we ever spent...so true!!! :)

Great idea!

I bought this for myself as a birthday gift and have used it on potatoes and pears. I don't know how I lived without one for so long. I have bought several for gifts for friends. It is sturdy and I would highly recommend it for those who hate peeling potatoes.

It's every thing I expected.

I had over 20 apples to peel, so I waited for it to arrive. The peeler arrived in good condition and sooner than I expected. It worked like like a charm. The reviews said The problem was it didn't peel the apples all the way to the top; they were right; that was to be expected because of the shape of an apple. I fixed that problem after the second apple. I cut off the top and bottom and it worked great. I'll do the same on all other items, like potatoes cucumbers etc. It also mad it easier to push the apple corer strait threw very little touch up after that. Great product, I bought one for my friends for Christmas. I know they will love it too.

Works well

I have only used it once on an apple to see how it works. It did a great job on that apple. I thought I was getting one that cored also but this one just peels as far as I can tell. But for me it is great when I am baking a pie. My arthritic fingers make peeling a bunch of apples difficult. So $20 is a small price to pay for that and so very worth it.

2nd pair of hands

Fruit & vegetable peeler is a great tool it’s like having a second pair of hands helping. You don’t have to worry about nicking your fingers as you do with a hand held peeler. It does make ridges on whatever you put on it but you can smooth it out with a regular peeler if you need it smooth I just left it like that. I would recommend getting this item. Just one thing I would say it does need to be made chargeable so you can take it with you to outings where there’s no electricity. Over all I’m happy with the product.

Great tool, VERY DANGEROUS

It's SUPER unclear where the heck the blade is at. I didn't even get the bubble wrap all the way off before I had a deep slice in my finger that should probably get a stitch, but I haven't been able to look at it since I finally got it to stop bleeding. THERE SHOULD BE A COVER FOR THE BLADE PIECE. Yes, after I got the bubble wrap off and the instruction book out, there were a couple of warnings to DO NOT TOUCH THE BLADE. Yeah. Got it the hard way. Any item that can slice you open just getting it out of the box and the bubble wrap pulled off is NOT SAFELY PACKAGED. It took me a few minutes of extraordinarily carefully looking for the actual blade to even find it. The blade unit needs to come off every time to rinse it off. I'm terrified I will inadvertently connect my finger again with the blade when I rinse or put away the item. AGAIN. The item needs better protection for not only unpacking it, but for storing and retrieval. It needs some kind of hood or plastic cup that fits over the entire red blade part. You should not be able to slice a finger open just trying to get the bubble wrap off! !!!!!!! I gave this item 3 stars because it actually works really well for the purpose it was intended. Fast and thorough. I tried mishapen red potatoes. The Starfrit Rotato took off all the peel except the very tops and bottoms, and the indents near the tops of some potatoes.
