Where was this all my life? I LOVE IT!!!

This peels lemon skins! Yes! Now I can have lemon peels without the extra hours I did by hand! It does other things too - like lime peels, oranges, potato's, eggplants, and it doesn't damage the insides so I can have my lemon peels and then make lemon water with the lemons themselves!!! Of course, I dehydrated them - and it was quick too! 1 hour! The time this has saved me peeling those potato's too -- WOW! And I deep fried those peels for a crunchy snack so that was my two for one! I'm a very happy person! Can't wait for tomato season! I can peel the skin off so I won't have to blanch before canning!!! And I can pop the skins into the dehydrator for tomato powder!!! I love this!!!

Hasseled but satisfied

We have owned a Rotato before and my wife loved it. When it finally broke down, she was very disappointed. We have been without it for several years now and she still comments on how she wished she had one again. I had no problems finding it on the web site but when I tried to get it shipped to my home, I got a message that it couldn't be shipped to my address. After several tries I gave up but a week or so later, I tried again and had no troubles having it shipped to my address; it must have been a glitch in the system. The item arrived only one day later than they thought that it should which could have been a problem with the shipper.

great for mobility issues

As my arthritis progresses it just keeps getting harder and harder to do things for myself. This fruit/veggie peeler makes it so easy for me and fast. I just put the food on and adjust the levers and away it goes. I just have to cut the food up into the size I need. I love it!

It is light-weight but works fast and well

I have peeled 10 lbs. of potatoes and the peeler worked well and at a fast pace. I like that it runs off an AC current, by way of a standard wall socket. My only complaint is that it is made of light weight plastic and it feels like it could easily break. But it hasn't to date so I am obliged to rate it as very good.

Too difficult to get blade in and out broke two getting it set up Works fairly well though made two pies really helpful to not have to eel time saving for sure but toward the end of the second pie Motor slowing down / blade dulling count change the blade because I didn't have any comes with three 2 broke . Tried to buy or reorder at Walmart but although it shows the replacement blades as an item it did not allow me to order them and they are not available in my stores so I guess my next step is to try the manufacturer after trying this one I would invest in one with a stronger motor and better blade for more money if its out there

seems fragile, but it does the job. dont be afraid of it and push the prones down into the potatoe tight. squeeze the handle for the blade to slide it back to top and push start. can walk away then. it's capable of the job. i got this for those big family meals when i have to peel many. so i can do other things in the kitchen while reloading this thing. awesome.

It Really Works!

I love to cook but hate peeling potatoes! I came across this 'Rotato' (extra star for the clever name!) and figured it wouldn't really work but the reviews insisted it worked well. I was impressed that it works so well and I'll be using it frequently; it's a little awkward looking and I have to keep it in the box to store it, but it's worth it!

Potatoe peeler

My wife is suffering from arthritis, but her famous mashed potatoes at Thanksgiving and Christmas are a must. I bought this peeler to help take care of the 80 lbs of potatoes which needed peeled. My grandson and I did this task in about 40 minutes. This peeler was so efficient, little to no waste, and super easy to clean up. My wife has recommended this to about five friends so far and all five are planning on buying it. A MUST to save those hands and fingers.

Great concept, mediocre execution

Sturdy machine, but the design is lacking consistency. It cuts perfectly-shaped potatoes with ease, and large apples are good; but any imperfection or divit will immediately send the peeling edge off track and it needs to be reset. The base also does not appear to be removeable, and quickly gets gross with juice, bits of peel, etc. Huge design flaw.

Great tool, VERY DANGEROUS

It's SUPER unclear where the heck the blade is at. I didn't even get the bubble wrap all the way off before I had a deep slice in my finger that should probably get a stitch, but I haven't been able to look at it since I finally got it to stop bleeding. THERE SHOULD BE A COVER FOR THE BLADE PIECE. Yes, after I got the bubble wrap off and the instruction book out, there were a couple of warnings to DO NOT TOUCH THE BLADE. Yeah. Got it the hard way. Any item that can slice you open just getting it out of the box and the bubble wrap pulled off is NOT SAFELY PACKAGED. It took me a few minutes of extraordinarily carefully looking for the actual blade to even find it. The blade unit needs to come off every time to rinse it off. I'm terrified I will inadvertently connect my finger again with the blade when I rinse or put away the item. AGAIN. The item needs better protection for not only unpacking it, but for storing and retrieval. It needs some kind of hood or plastic cup that fits over the entire red blade part. You should not be able to slice a finger open just trying to get the bubble wrap off! !!!!!!! I gave this item 3 stars because it actually works really well for the purpose it was intended. Fast and thorough. I tried mishapen red potatoes. The Starfrit Rotato took off all the peel except the very tops and bottoms, and the indents near the tops of some potatoes.
