What is the point of adding dill?

I read many reviews where people complain about the "dill" taste and they get a standard response from John Soules Foods, who I assume is the manufacturer. Basically it states they "add" dill flavoring, however the package states no such thing on the ingredients. ???

Hi, FoodDad. Sorry you didn't like our Member's Mark Southern Style Chicken Bites. Regarding your question about where the addition of dill flavoring is mentioned on the package, you can find this on the back of the bag in the paragraph located just above the heating instructions. You are correct that dill is not specified in the ingredients list. We simply list "spices" therein. Again, sorry these didn't meet your expectations. We do value your input and appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment. Please know that you may also contact the Sam's Club Member's Mark Call Center at Member’s Mark Call Center at 888-301-0332 (M-F, 8am to 5pm CDT) for additional customer service.

Chicken bites

These are very unappetizing. How do you mess up chicken nuggets? They didn't smell great after cooking and tasted even worse. I'm not a picky eater, but I couldn't stomach more than two before I threw them away. I don't think even chick -fil-a sauce could save these. They also have the air fryer directions off. It takes at least ten minutes, not five. I do not recommend.

Weird taste

Waste of money. More per pound than similar, better tasting products. Tried for first time and do not recommend. Had to read reviews to realize they tasted more like pickles than chicken. I’ve never equated pickles with southern style food. Definitely requesting refund. Gross.

HORRIBLE STRONG PICKLE FLAVOR

After seeing some reviews decided to give these a try, BIG MISTAKE. The pickle flavor, aftertaste or whatever you wanna call it IS REAL. It's incredibly strong, as if these chickens were submerged in pickle juice for a week. Even if you like pickles, the flavor is so strong chances are you'll hate it too. Not only that, but whatever the breading is made of also left big black pieces of something in my air fryer, something the just bare brand never has done. Very glad sam's accepts returns on this. In short, skip this, thank me later.

+1 on Weird PIckle Aftertaste!

I thought these would be simple an good but they tasted like fish to me. Then another family member said its a dill pickle after-taste. Either way we probably wont even finish this bag. Checked with extended family and they already thrown a bag out!

Eww

I think it's the seasoning; someone else mentioned dill flavor added in a prior comment. These chicken bites are disgusting, I thought I was eating a racemic mix of chicken and rat. Emphasis on the rat part--- I personally do not recommend, these went straight unto the garbage- Should have gotten a refund.

not for us

I couldn’t find our usual chicken fingers at the store so I thought I’d give these try after reading the reviews. I figured there would be 50/50 chance the taste would ok and the kiddo wouldn’t be able to actually taste pickles when dipped in sauce. Nope. I’d say these are probably only enjoyed by those who really, really, REALLY like pickles. And salt. For what it’s worth, I like pickles! A lot. But I personally found this chicken gross and couldn’t eat it. My daughter almost gaged (but in all fairness, she hates pickles). The chicken cooked up good in the oven, no gross pieces, but lots of mix on each piece if that’s your thing. But…. It was like eating a hot, squishy pickle with batter, so unfortunately, these were not for our house.

Weird taste

These taste like plastic or some chemical. My son tried it and agreed with some folks here that it takes like Chik-Fil-A with pickles. Very strange he said that, and then I confirmed looking at some posts here. I can not eat them though. They are in the garbage

The dog wouldn’t eat them

I feel the need to echo the other reviews that complain about the surprise pickle flavor because the response from Sam’s repeatedly argues that the flavor is listed on the back of the bag. I don’t read the back of the bag when I’m buying chicken nuggets that aren’t labeled as having a flavor. My response to that is if a food item has a BIZARRE flavor like pickle juice, it needs to be in the title on the FRONT of the bag. I hate waste, and no one in my house would eat this garbage, and we like pickles. I want my money back!

The dill kills it...

Partially my own fault, I had heard that these tasted exactly like Chick Fil A chicken nuggets. So I didn't think to look at the ingredients to see the " hint " of dill... The quality of the product is very good, but the dill kills it for me. I can only hope they will make this product without dill also sometime soon.
