First time trying, based on reviews and the fact that this is slightly less expensive than the brand I normally use. This one has more filler seed than the other. I just don't have any birds that like the small seeds. Still, not the worst that I have tried.

I'm disappointed in this product. I've been buying this for quite a few years now and not only has the price more than doubled in the last couple of years but the quality of the last bag I bought has gone way down. This bird feed used to contain quite a bit of white millet and almost no red millet which while cheaper than the white birds don't care to eat. I'm hoping that this is just a one time occurrence but this product has seems to have cut back on the sunflower seeds, peanut pieces and other ingredients. I wouldn't mind as much if Pennington had reduced the size of the bag to say 45# and kept the same mix but they have raised prices AND lowered quality considerably. I'll look at the mixture in the bags on my next trip to Sam's but if the quality is still substandard I'll go back to buying my bird food elswhere.

I live near a waterway and there are a few mama ducks who have babies running around and they love this seed. In fact, they love so much that I have opened my front door to have then waiting for me to feed them or to have them follow me to my apartment when they see me walking my dog. On behalf of the ducks, I give this 2 thumbs up!

I continue to purchase Pennington’s Wild Bird food at Sam’s and to serve it in our backyard feeders because, of the options available — not only at Sam’s but other retail outlets, it’s always fresh and tasty enough that the bird population in our backyard seems to increase by 20-30%!! The variety of birds also seems to change when I feed our feathered friends Pennington’s and that’s ok too. The only unresolved issue is this also increases the number of visits by the neighborhood hawk as it looks for it’s fair share of “booty.” My only hope is that he sees the mice sooner than the birds and thereby takes care of other ‘visitors’ who seem to enjoy Pennington’s! I haven’t found any creature that hasn’t enjoyed Pennington’s!... squirrels included!
