Backs are very poor quality

Rec'd 12/20/2017, the back of one of the earrings was "missing" as it had fallen off the back of the earring in the box. The back of the earring was so loose it wouldn't stay on it just fell right off. Are the earrings supposed to be white gold? The backs of them are not I don't think. Just curious as to what part(s) of the earrings are supposed to be white gold. The stones themselves were nice enough.
