You don't need it until you need it, but I tested my Westinghouse portable after ordering it and it started up without a hitch. It also seamlessly switches between fuel types. Good so far.

We purchased this generator after the May Derecho storm. It worked very well to keep our home running while we waited for the power to be restored in our neighborhood. I would recommend this generator for anyone living on the Gulf Coast.

WE BOUGHT THIS A MONTH AGO AND REALLY HAVE NOT USED IT YET FOR A POWER OUTAGE, BUT WE DID A TRIAL RUN. IT STARTED UP IMMEDIATELY AND RAN OUR HOUSEHOLD LIGHTS AND APPLIANCES.

Bought this week and I am so happy with the generator. I really like the automatic start button that came with it. It's nice to know I have a generator to run my home should electric go out.

Bought this for the upcoming hurricane season and hope I won't have to use it, but if I do, it will be more than capable of providing power to my home. I like the TRI fuel feature: Gas, Propane or LNG.

Followed up the set up instructions for initial start up. However it doesn't seem to run consistently. It is making a surging sound. I hope to contact customer service to resolve the issue.

got it out of the box...followed directions... hit the start button.... hmmmmmm?... didn't start? read directions again.... missed step #4... "Move fuel valve to the ON position"... it started!

The WGen9500 is powerful enough to power almost everything in my house but light enough to easily move outside when I need it, Already scheduled an electrician to install a transfer switch so I don't have to hassle with extension cords.

I purchased this unit with the future in mine. We plan to downsize in the near future and I wish to use this unit as a whole house generator and plug it into the main electrical panel.

I have only started this generator once so far, but it worked perfectly and the electric start works great. It's a bit noisy, but that is to be expected of generators of this type and size.
