WGen9500 Generator

After going without power due to wildfire danger, my wife and I decided it was time to buy some power of our own. After doing many hours of research we decided the Westinghouse 9500 watt generator was our best choice. So glad we did! It arrived very well packaged, and assembly was a breeze. This unit will power everything we need to serve another power outage (AND HERE IN CALIFORNIA) we know its coming. GREAT product that will last us for the years to come. Thank You Westinghouse.. Great Value and Features!

I ordered this right after the major snowstorm in Feb. 2021. The generator arrived on March 10, 2021. It was packed securely and no damage in shipment. I followed the instructions, added the included oil and hit the start button. Nothing! The battery was dead. So, I manually started it. It started on the second pull. I ran it for over an hour and tried to start the generator with the battery. No joy! I put the battery on my battery charger for a while. Reinstalled it in the generator and no joy again. Bad battery. Generator is great! Battery is bad!

Nice looking!

Bought this unit after we lost power for 11 days last year. We had to rent a generator( smaller in size) and the cost of the rental for 11 days was more than the purchase price of this one. Haven't had to use it yet. Just unboxed it to assemble the wheels and feet. I like that it has 3 different start options. It will be easy to maneuver and set up by myself if and when it is needed. It is quite heavy. Our box came with oil spilled on it from transport but was otherwise is good condition.

Easy to assemble and very quiet

I bought this to replace my 28 year old generator and glad I got this one. Mainly because it is a "Tri" fuel unit. Love the electric start, plus a remote too. Only one issue, a regulator is need for the Natural Gas option. Finding the proper regulator is the big question!

Great value for the money

I bought this a month ago to replace a smaller unit from another manufacturer. We definitely use this often as the power goes out on a regular basis. Now we have enough capacity to keep our home reasonably well until the power is restored, usually the same day.

The Tri-fuel option sold me on this generator

I bought this generator as I am upgrading my house to 200 Amp service and want to run more circuits than I could with my previous smaller generator. I wanted the option to run a Natural Gas generator so I don't need to keep filling a gas tank during prolonged outages and this unit fits the bill. It was easy to assemble and the owners manual and included items are a plus. Also the remote battery start is a real convenience.

Great value for the price

I purchased this Wgen9500 generator during the Fall of 2019 after our local electrical supplier, PG&E, started shutting down grids because of fire danger. I had a small generator (2000 watts) but it wasn't large enough to power our needs. Did my homework, and decided on the 9,500 watt size. This unit came fast, came perfect (no damage), started the first time, and ran great. I haven't had a chance to test its capabilities during a blackout, but it should handle nearly my whole house. It is a bit heavy, and a bit noisy, but that comes with the size. The built-in handle made maneuvering it around very easy, and it is actually smaller than I had expected. Fits very nicely in my outdoor shed, very convenient to store and move around. All in all, a very good value for the price. I would recommend the Westinghouse line without reservations.

Easy to use with lots of features

Getting the generator out of the box was super easy. The instructions were easy to follow. Directions for maintenance are thorough, and everything is easily accessible. Lots of great features. I was very exited about the tires that can't go flat. running the generator charges the battery for remote and push button start. There is also the option of a plug in charger.

Saved us During Hurricane Beryl power outage

This generator saved us during our 5 days without power during the aftermath of Hurricane Beryl. It keep us from losing all our food by running our refrigerator and upright freezer. It also ran a window unit A/C that was a real blessing in the 105 heat index temps. The quick startup and easy operation was just what we needed. This unit is easy on fuel because it ran 10 hrs. before I stopped it to check the fuel and it had only used a few gallons of gas . Highly recommend this generator. Thanks, Westinghouse for a great product !!!!!!!

Simple and very powerful

I bought this generator because when I lose power I usually lose it for several days at a time. It set up very easily, not much to it. I ran it solo several times using the remote start. Excellent. I had my electrician install a transfer switch with ten breakers on it. Once everything was hooked up we did several trial runs. I was able to run my boiler (heat, hot water) 2 refrigerators, 2 microwaves, 1 freezer, 15000 BTU A/C, 3 TV's, and 95% of the lights in my house (Not including outlets as well). No problem at all. I didn't even bog down or strain under the load. The electrician was impressed with it. As I said this was a trial run but it performed very well.
