Excellent Generator. Packaging needs work

I bought this to power my house and I think it will. The Quality of the generator is excellent. The remote start is one of the reasons I went with this model as well as the 50amp outlet. It is not as loud as other generators with less wattage. The box the thing comes in is very flimsy cardboard and my frame was actually damaged. Along with a slightly bent wheel mount. Overall I love the generator.

Truly amazing generator

I purchased this generator during hurricane beryl in houston. We were without power for 10 days. I love that I was able to hook this generator to my natural gas line. It made it so easy to power my home. I was able to easily power three fridgerators and a deep freezer aswell as 3 window units and fans and a couple televisions. Next time I will have this generator tied into my home and have no doubts it will be able to power my entire home with no issues!

Great Generator - Easy to use - Tri Fuel option

Brought the generator to make it trough the hurricane season. Easy to assemble and put to use. 15 minutes out of box and ready to go. Tri Fuel is an great option as gas, propane or natural gas gives you more availability of fuel options during the hurricane season. Love the push button and remote start feature. The Westinghouse Tri Fuel is an amazing generator for all uses and perfect as a back up for home emergency situations. The generator is priced well for all the options available Easy to use. . Highly recommend to anyone looking to make a generator purchase.

Easy to Use!

We have just used this for the first time. It's also the very first time we have ever used a generator at all, so we really weren't sure what to expect in terms of ease of use. Directions were clear and easy to follow, and the generator started right up as soon as we needed it. We love the remote for ease of use and not having to keep going outside when the power is off/on/off again like it has been today.

So Far so Good

Just delivered today. Easy set up. Started right up after filling with oil and gas. The battery even seems to be fully charged. I had read some reviews about the rubber feet falling off due to the lack of locking nuts, and planned to Loctite them, but Westinghouse must have listened because the feet were held on with locking nuts. I haven't had a chance to actually test the unit for power output because this is replacing a very old generator with less output and my electrician needs to upgrade the feed to the panel to handle the 50 amp output. The only question I have is why the supplied oil doesn't seem to fill the crankcase, and why no actual oil spec is listed anywhere. I do want to top it up, but I don't want to mix types.

Started right up

Generator arrived in good shape. Very simple to assemble. It does take more than the 1 quart of oil that is supplied. However, I did have some oil sitting around that I was able to top it off with. Started right up after adding fuel. Providing good electrical power.

Great Product

Provides a lot of power with a few little luxuries like remote start and multiple outlets. Yes, it is loud but not nearly as loud as other generators we have had. It is heavy but that is to be expected. The wheels and handle allow for it to be easily moved around.

Runs our RV and charges electric car with no issue

This thing is so powerful. We are living in our RV while building a house and needed power until the county would give the temp elec permit. We had no experience with generators and wasn't sure what to get, but we knew we needed something to run our 30amp RV in the middle of a HOT southern summer, power the 1.5hp pump for our well, and charge our Nissan Leaf. (Oh the irony of using a gas generator to charge an electric car!) This generator has done all that and keeps on ticking! We use the 50 amp plug for our RV (using a 30amp to 50amp cord), use the 30a plug for our well pump, and the 120v for our car. Occasionally you can hear the generator bog down, but it's never tripped the breaker. It HAS shut off a few times on it's own, but now we understand its nuances, have adapted our behavior and have only had one actual issue (will detail later). - The CO monitor is very sensitive, so make sure it has lots of air space. - It shuts off if the oil is getting low. We've had to refill oil twice in the 2 straight weeks of use. So keep a eye on the level. We use about 10 gallons of gas each day to keep it going about 22 hours/day. (We like to let it rest a couple hours if possible.) Going to have our propane hooked up to it by the gas company tomorrow. It is loud. We have 12 acres of land and no one around us, so we don't feel awful about running it constantly. But it is annoying to have that constant hum in the background. We have it as far away from our RV as the RV extension cord will allow, and we've set up a few sound buffers between here and there to help drown out the sound. So it's not awful, but registers at 59dbl. We've also set up a shade tent over the generator to keep the sun from beating down on it. Not sure if that's needed, but it makes us feel better. We just need about 2 more weeks of use out of it and then we can store it until needed as a backup generator for the house, should power fail in the future. But I definitely feel like it's been a great value and has been so reliable. The one issue we've had: the electric start has already given out. It seemed a bit touchy from the get go, but was reliable once we figured out how to push it just right. However, the last couple of days, it just clicks when we push the button and doesn't start. We've had to start using the manual pull. I've seen a few cases online where a quick warranty claim was needed for the switch; looks like there may be known issues with it. Will add my claim to the list. Overall, we've been extremely happy with this generator and would buy it again in a heartbeat.

Great price and FAST delivery

I spent hours mulling over which generator to buy. Finally decided on the big WGen9500. This should have plenty of power for my whole house when mother nature cuts us off from the grid. Same basic dimensions as most open frame generators but it is darned heavy due to its huge capacity. It is not quiet, but similar to a 4000W other brand that it is replacing. The 30 Amp L14-30R fits with my existing long cord and wall inlet so I don't have to make any changes right away. However, in order to use all of the power I'll have to upgrade everything between the generator and the house panel. Why have 12,500 peak amps if I can't get it to the house? Setup was quick and simple. Wheel kit and feet took only a couple minutes. Filled it with oil and some gas. Connected the battery with the quick connection now included. One push of the electric start button and it was off and running. Same with the remote start fob, didn't even have to pair it with the generator. The manual start was not the first pull start. Have to give it a pretty quick yank to fire it up with the pull cord. Nice to have multiple options for starting. We'll see how it does when we lose power and really need it, but great so far. I never give 5 stars but might want to rethink that after putting this through its paces.
