Absolutely no surprises with this purchase. Delivery was smooth and quick. Assembly directions were very clear I used both (instruction book included in shipment and 3D version from the app). All of the components (there are a lot) were clearly marked and none were missing. No cutting, drilling, modifying of any kind. I did treat all wood components with a tinted sealer before assembly, to help with moisture protection and give it a deeper color. Most of the assembly I did by myself but about 20% you will defiantly need a couple buddies, especially the roof, but it’s all very doable. I included electrical so I could add two ceiling fans and some party lights. I couldn’t be happier at how it improved my outdoor space

My husband just built our new gazebo. We love it we had a massive rain last night and the furniture basically stay dry even know there was a lot of wind. The intricate design of this gazebo is amazing. He pretty much built it himself except for needing help with putting the roof up. We are thrilled with our new gazebo.

I was really impressed with how this went together. Everything lined up well enough, and was easy enough to put together. My only complaint is the roof. The roof isn’t designed for places that have heavy rain the metal roofing doesn’t extend long enough to shed water properly. Both ends also don’t have any roofing material over them, so they are completely exposed to the weather. The design for this roof is a poor choice. The edges are high, with no roofing material, then it drops lower to where the roofing material is, which causes the roofing material to not protect the wood. They should have just designed the roof as a regular roof.

I added 4 feet to the carport height to house my 18 foot travel trailer. I inserted 3.5” x 3.5” x 2’ posts into each 7’ post. I then sandwiched (2) 6” x 1.25” x 4’ cedar boards & (2) 3.5” X 1.25” to the center posts. I then attached the provided baseplates to the new extension posts. The build from that point was normal.

We got this at the beginning of June 2023. It’s beautiful my husband and I put it together ourselves once we found instructions in box 3 LOL it wasn’t that difficult it took us like 4-5 days were 64 and 70 years old but in good shape our oldest son came to help with the roof panels there not real heavy just kinda awkward for the 2 of us but it’s done and looks amazing only real issue we had was a little roof leaks screws just needed to be tightened down more my husband was worried about ripping the rubber washer if he did them to tight but once he tightened them more all up no more drips .instructions for overlapping roof ribs kinda hard to understand . On page 44 measuring from the rib not the edge hard to understand . We opened all boxes first and layed everything out according to part numbers it made thing way easier to find . We’ve had several parties under it already everyone LOVES IT !

We picked up the 16x12 Norwood to extend the coverage of our new stone patio. Everything arrived intake, all parts were labeled clearly, and instructions were very easy to follow. We are just normal homeowners (45 yrs old, owned our home for 20 yrs) and were able to fully assemble the gazebo ourselves. We did need a few extra hands to erect each half and it made it way easier to get the roof panels up when someone hands them up to you while you're on the ladder. We put our gazebo up on 20" concrete blocks to match the height of our existing patio cover. Can't be more pleased. We will update when we get all the accessories installed (lights, fans, etc.) Definitely would recommend this brand!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We’ve had our Norwood Gazebo for nearly six months now and we love it. It is beautiful and functional and provides us with great shaded hang out area in our backyard. My only reservation with this product is the price. There are other cheaper options out there but we decided to go with this one figuring “you get what you pay for”. The roof has received dents from hail but no major problems. And it has handled several medium snows already as well (CO).

I was missing one piece and backyard discovery sent it out to me right away. I also built a small deck to put it on. I'm very happy with the finished product. Everyone that comes over loves it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased the Brindlewood 10x12 gazebo for our back yard directly from Backyard Discovery. The gazebo was delivered via freight about 15 days later. The packaging was very good and the parts were very well labeled across the different boxes. We installed the unit by ourselves and found the instructions to be very easy to follow. While it was a day and a half project for two people, it was definitely a project that was attainable for the average DIY person. The gazebo is beautiful. Solid cedar and stained ina nice semi-transparent dark walnut color. I needed a few extra parts - probably because of my error, and they were very willing to ship the fasteners to me. Their customer service was fantastic dealing with them when I needed them. I priced out different DIY gazebos as well as custom built patio covers, and Backyard Discovery has the best pricing and product, hands down. Here are a few pictures of our gazebo.

Bought this kit to replace an old metal frame rusted out pergola, was love at first sight when I saw timber frame inspired pictures. Build it slowly with help from my two sons, so proud to say I build the roof grid all by myself, a 66 year old lady. I also stained it with Cabot's Heartwood sealer which is the most beautiful color. We were so worried about getting the roof up there in the limited space but it just went up perfectly on the first attempts. Then I took it the rest of the way to perfect- added rain gutters, sun curtains, ceiling fan, Alexa and over 500 fairy lights and Edison bulbs. Could not be happier with the finished product, it was been a really great summer project. Thank you, Backyard Discovery!
