Premier Protein 30g High Protein Shake, Chocolate, 11 fl. oz., 15 pk.

I joined a fitness challenge put on by a local gym targeted toward people completely out of shape wanting to make drastic changes to diet and fitness.  I was willing to eat whatever, and cut out whatever, but I told myself I was NOT going to be one of those people who drink protein shakes non stop! After a couple of weeks of struggling to get my protein where it needed to be, I relented and picked these up on a whim on my last Sam's club trip. I liked that it was very high in protein and also low in sugar. The ones I had picked up in prep for the challenge was high in protein, but also higher than I liked in fat and sugar. It was 3 steps forward and 2 steps back. Now I'm finding it easier to get my macros where they need to be.

As far as taste, it's pretty good. Not as good as carnation drinks (but also doesn't have corn syrup, so...) but reasonably palatable. I find the price to be justifiable for the convenience of a pre-made shake.

One of the chocolate Premier protein shakes had gone sour and was leaking inside the box, unbeknownst to me until I was half way home and was overwhelmed by the stench that was building in my car. By the time I got home, I was afraid I was going to die from asphyxiation. My car was wet and WREAKED of sour milk. The entire case had to not only be thrown away, but our trash pickup was not for another 5 days, so we had to bag it and drive it to a local dump. My car, garage and driveway had to be hosed down and the smell didn’t leave my car until it was professionally cleaned. The floor mat, where the case had been sitting when I loaded it in my car was covered in the most vile wretched stank ever! I called customer service and they told me that I just had to bring the receipt and the box back in for a full refund, but there was no freaking way I was saving that god awful wet, smelly cardboard box and nor was I putting it back inside my car. The actual leaky shake was neon yellow in color, that’s how bad it was. It was vile and the smell still haunts me today. I had to cough it up to a waste of $30-something bucks because I didn’t return with the receipt and box. I could not bring myself to share that repugnant stench with another human being…not even my worst enemy!
