Not worth it

I purchased the Dutch oven set in January 2018. Within 6 months the enamel was chipping around the rim and rust was coming through. I always washed and dried by hand. I contacted Tramontina and attached pictures. They asked for more pictures then required a receipt ( I no longer had the receipt). They closed out my ticket and basically told me to they weren't going to do anything. I really enjoyed cooking with a dutch oven but I would definitely save up and purchase a more quality brand that stands by their product. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for.

Enamel ware

I bought this two years ago and the enamel at the Bottom of the pot has wore away and has turned dark brown. It doesn't wash off and it is scratched to the iron. I think having a big dutch oven is versital but I have concerns with the integrity of the enamel coming off into my food or the rusty iron affecting the tast of the food as well.

so excited to receive as a gift! I began cooking

I received this item as a gift. I was so excited, I have been using it weekly. Though I have only had the item 2 weeks it hasn't left my stove top. I was cleaning it several days ago and noticed the inside ridge under the lid is noticeably rusting. I attempted rubbing it with oil. Cooked another dish and removed the lid and rust had dripped onto the enamel of the inside of the dutch oven. I attempted the ask a question option and received a response the option wasn't available, probably because it is Thanksgiving. I will be contacting my local store to return. So very disappointed!

total bummer and waste of money

SO disappointed. Bought this on a good sale and thought it would last me long enough until I could get a name brand one. I?m a regular pretty decent home cook and even followed all instructions in the package as to seasoning it before us. After that I used it no more than 5 times and this happened, I was shocked and so bummed. The bottom starting chipping away worse than cheap nail polish. I never used metal utensils, only wooden spoons. Save your money and get a REAL one.

Great deal! You WANT this pot. You NEED this pot :)

Very impressed by quality and design, too. The stainless steel lid knob is a nice touch - even Le Creuset has bakelite (plastic) knobs unless you pay for a premium line. I've made 2 braised dishes so far and very pleased with performance and also how easy it cleans. By the time you're ready to wash it, nothing's really sticking - just fill it with hot water and use a sponge + dish soap. It's also just beautiful. And I like the shape and design of the lid a little better than some of the standard Le Creuset pots. Granted, Le Creuset has some really nifty items, but they are $350. It's pointless to argue whether Le Creuset is better. This pot costs less than shipping back to France if you ever need their lifetime warranty. It's very well made. From what I've read France and China are the only places in the world that make this type of product, at least as available to us here in the US. FWIW Lodge enameled pots are made in China too and IMHO this Tramontina is a better deal. I have several bare cast iron seasoned cookware items - skillets and a large and small camp oven. Those are great, but I've always wanted enameled - because sometimes you just want to leave the dish in the pot and move to the fridge and not worry about rusting or reseasoning. And it looks great and the light interior makes it easier to assess the progress visually (which is why they like them in cooking shows, it looks better on camera).

Question about Toxicity

I have not used the Dutch oven yet. I would like the Customer Care Team that has been providing responses to customer’s comments to answer my question, which follows. I’d like to know whether this Dutch oven contains any toxic substances, such as heavy metals like lead or cadmium in the enamel or pigments, especially in certain colors. There are reputable non-governmental websites online, including warnings by the federal government, which warn potential buyers that certain low cost Dutch ovens have contained toxic substances. Therefore, I would like to know what independent testing has been done, specifically, by certified independent labs, to test whether this Dutch oven contains any toxic materials. Also, what assurances does Sam’s Club give that these ovens are non-toxic? I’m sure all buyers of this product would like to know the answer to these two questions. Thank you.

Bad experience

I bought this 2 weeks ago and as instructed first washed it by hand with a light detergent and completely dried it then I put a light amount of cooking oil on the exposed cast iron on lid and pot and baked it as instructed. A small amount of oil ran onto the enamel part of pot and lid and baked on. It took over an hour of scrubbing to remove the baked in oil. I have yet to use this pot for cooking but am concerned about how it with hold up based on my experiences so far. Because of this I can not recommend at this time.

Gorgeous and easy to use!

I have never baked bread in my life but decided to give it a shot. There is a viral cheese bread recipe that I wanted to try and since it was on sale, I went ahead and purchased the Tramontina bread Dutch oven. I also purchased this 7-qt Tramontina Dutch oven because the set is so beautiful. My husband kept asking me over and over again, you didn't use a package for this? No, no I did not. I made it from scratch with my own two hands! I was so inspired, I decided to make cioppino (seafood soup) to go with the cheesy garlic bread. So I also purchased this 7-quart Dutch oven. (The cranberry and gold combination are stunning!) HE WENT CRAZY!! I have made so many wonderful dishes (including the fabulous potato leek soup pictured below) thanks to these two beautiful Dutch ovens. They are gorgeous, elegant, easy to use and clean up very well. I can't wait to make more recipes!!
