Love this Dutch Oven! The 7qt size is perfect for our large family. We have cooked in it several times a week since we purchased it, both on the stovetop and in the oven, and I couldn’t be happier. The color is a cool metallic gray, like gunmetal. The weight and quality are (IMO) just as good as the much more expensive Dutch oven that my mother-in-law owns, and a fraction of the price. Totally worth it!

I wanted an oval shaped cast iron roaster. From the photo online, this looked just right. Plus there were many colors from which to choose! That was a big plus! I was very disappointed to see when it arrived that it was round! I went back online to look again, it wasn’t obvious. And I didn’t see it stated just what shape it was. So, I returned it.

I read the reviews, including the one in The Test Kitchen's Dutch Oven book and those on-line, then I saw the price at Sam's. Had to give it a try and went with it. Follow the directions on the box for seasoning the rim of the lid and pan and you are good. You have to remember it is a cast iron pan covered with enamel to a point. Just give the edges of the lid and pan a rub with oil now and then, just like cast iron pans, and you should be fine. Love this dutch oven!

My Dutch oven arrived on time in a well protected package. It is a beautiful blue color. It’s big enough to cook my favorite whole wheat bread in the oven and I am able to stew my favorite meats and veggies. I’m glad I chose this size because it can do everything for me large or small. It’s easy to clean. And you can’t beat the price.

I love the IDEA of this pot. I have used it three times and it cooks well. However, the enamel is not thick enough. It scratches easily and comes off. It rusts around the inner lid. I would likely pay more and get better quality if I had it to do again. Nowhere does it say Tramontina on it.

I have been looking for a long time to find a Dutch oven that is substantial in size and quality at a great value. I was concerned when I first saw this having to order sight unseen, however was so pleased when it arrived. It is not only extremely well made but it has a beautiful finish as well. I have already used it several times and love the results. Definitely would recommend.

Really well made product at a great price over comparable Dutch ovens elsewhere. Good sized bottom surface but still fits on my largest ceramic cooktop burner in the front. Yes it is heavy as all of the larger ones are. I got mine in a purple eggplant color and I am quite happy with how it heats up and maintains heat cooking at a simmer even when I lower the burner temperature. Made a large pot of Bolognese sauce with meatballs in it and it cleaned up pretty easily. Great for stews and slow braising larger roasts with vegetables. Can go into the oven after searing meats or sautéing vegetables for longer braising times. Just keep a level of liquid in it to avoid scorching the bottom.

We have bought 7 of these Tramontina Enamaled Cast Iron 6.5 At. Covered Round Dutch Ovens. Five are for gifts. I use one in the house for soups and stews. The best use I have found is that it is just the right size for making jams, jellies and brine for pickles. The temperature is very easy to maintain while cooking. No hot spots. Easy clean up. The other one we use outside to deep fry our catfish. I would recommend this to all.

Mine was perfect out of the box, no chips no nicks. For the price it's absolutely fantastic. It's a big pot at 7qt, and it does perfectly exactly what I bought it for. Deep frying. It's 1/15th the cost of Le Creuset, and 1/10th the cost of Lodge USA. I'm very happy with it and I'll treat it as nicely as I would the other two. French fries are a pleasure to make in this thing and the sides are so tall there's no mess on my stovetop.

Love the Dutch oven, box states that it is for temperatures Up to 450 degrees. I have made 3 loaves of sourdough bread which require the first 25 mins to be baked at 500 degrees and have not had an issue so far. All artisan breads are started at 500 degrees and lowered after. Maybe temp is a disclaimer, I did but pot especially for the bread baking.
