We spent quite some time searching for something that truly reflected our taste, yet would stand the test of time. When we finally found it, my husband assembled it with ease (with a little help from our sons-in-law). He finished it with the recommended lacquer, and the result is simply beautiful—better than I had imagined. He placed it thoughtfully where our two wisteria plants grow, training them to climb and frame the structure. It has created a stunning, peaceful shaded retreat, reminiscent of the Tuscan countryside—right here in NYC. We absolutely love it and look forward to enjoying it for many years to come.

This beautiful 10" x 12" pergola has completely transformed my rather plain backyard into an inviting retreat! I have enjoyed sitting underneath it almost every day since it was installed a month ago and continue to derive enjoyment every time I look at it! I did my research and learned that Backyard Discovery has the highest recommendations in all different kinds of recreational kits, which was confirmed by my handyman who had previously put together BD playsets. He had absolutely no difficulty sealing, assembling, and then anchoring the pergola. I am so happy!!

it's beautiful, easy to install and it met my expectations. The instructions were easy enough for anyone to follow, it was actually fun to build it with zero frustration.

I had to put this Pergola together it has boards that would not line up and most of the 2x2 top parts warped

I looked around before buying my Pergola kit and Backyard Discovery seemed like the best option, I was right !

Great pergola. I also have the 12x10 pergola. Both look great and classy. Easy to follow instructions. I would recommend at least two people on a couple of steps but most of it can be put together by one person.

We are very happy with this purchase except a couple small items. Instructions were very good. One thing I noticed is that the instructions from the BILT app are a little backwards compared to the printed instructions. One would have a board right side up and the other would have it right side down. Fine, as long as you stick to one set of directions. Everything lined up very nicely except for a couple corbels and most of the 2x2's on top. I would say that only 25% of the 2x2 holes lined up, but not sure if there is a way to improve that. Most of the lumber was surprisingly straight except for the 2x2s, especially the posts!

I bought this over the 2019 Memorial day weekend which included free shipping as part of the special. It was delivered withing 10 business days, in long boxes. Boxes are heavy, need two strong people to lift. I was able to assemble the pergola within four hours. It really adds visual depth to my patio, ties the house in nicely to the yard and provides great shade. I will be adding a canvas piece to the side for additional UV protection but overall I would definitely recommend this product.
