We did a major backyard makeover and wanted a structure for shade and design. This pergola is gorgeous! Beautiful color. Great quality and price. I can't believe this is my patio! The only thing I would do different is hire someone to install it. I did it with the help of 3 other people over 2 days. The instructions and BILT app were good but said you needed 2 adults. No way. Attaching the main frame pieces to posts was not easy! It took 3 strong men to lift the structure several times to align the holes for the bolts. After that, it was much easier. Overall…beautiful patio addition.

Seems like everyone in the neighborhood was putting up Peroglas, but I wanted one that was beautiful, well built, and easy to assemble. I couldn't be happier, since putting it up, we gotten numerous compliments. The wood is high quality and the engineering is near perfect. Much better than those big box products.

Price is far less than others, but quality is not much less. Very happy with my purchase, using it as a decorative car port in an area too small for anything else. Did need to re-drill 3-4 holes in the top slats, but the rest fit together well. Recommend reading the instructions.

I bought this pergola at the end of last year and installed it myself. The delivery was smooth and building the pergola was not too difficult. There were a few times I needed another person to help, but it went quickly. We chose to wrap the tops with vines to add a little more shade and greenery to the yard. It has been our favorite place to hang out around a fire pit during the winter and now hang out in the evening during the warmer months.

Purchased this pergola along with the 16x12 gazebo and installation for both..spent ALOT of money. Let me make it clear the 5 stars are for the pergola only. The installation company..GoConfigure..does not warrant any stars. Zero communication with me from them..I had to make daily calls for updates. All I can say is hopefully someone will read this and save themselves the time and money wasted on dealing with GoConfigure.

We have a 2 1/2 acre property and adding pergolas to key areas has created places to enjoy the different parts of the property in shade. Pergolas also beautify and have an elegance to them and protect outdoor furniture…all the reasons we purchased 3. The Backyard Discovery products are well made/beautiful with good instructions and good customer service. We purchased a 20x12 and financed it and it made it so easy to buy a larger priced item. Highly recommend the company and products. The items are just as pictured.

I'll admit a little slow becoming a pergola advocate. With the Texas sun, I do want a little more protection when cooking outside than these things natively offer. This 12x20 monster replaces a pair of 10x13 canopies. The wind has blown here more this year than in the past 60 years. My cheap canopies didn't stand a chance. The vibration from the wind loosened half the screws and both simply collapsed. And they acted like sails before collapsing. The family joke was me getting everyone to help move them back into place at family gatherings. This baby is over 700 lbs and rated for 100 mph winds. I cannot imagine it moving for some wimpy 40 mph breeze. I need to conjure up some Sun/rain protection, but I am beyond thrilled with it. I ordered the installation when I purchased the pergola. A precise date/time was set for the installation from emails they were coming from Back Yard Discovery. However, when the installers arrived without the pergola at the appointed hour, I realized there was a disconnect somewhere. The pergola magically arrived Friday before the 4th of July weekend. I called the installers back and darned if they didn't come Saturday morning to install this thing. They just left. Other than signing their paperwork, I actually haven't goner over it closely yet. But the installers were punctual, polite, and very, very efficient. This is the summer for backyard projects that I have anticipated for a long time. This pergola is key to housing my entire outside cooking world and to have it dine in time for the 4th of July makes me very happy. Thanks to everyone involved!

I had our pergola installed before winter. It was a lovely spring day and we went out to see it up close for the first time and a beam is cracked. I was hoping to hang swings but now I'm concerned about the weight bearing aspect. We did have it anchored in cement.

This is the beat quality and most beautiful purchase I have ever made. We have so many compliments on it and even our contractor friends have said what great quality this is and it comes with EVERYTHING you need to assemble. A hammer drill is the only tool I needed to affix to my cement patio. It's simply stunning and so affordable.

We were looking for something to put over the top of our water garden. This worked perfect. It still lets the sunlight through but at the same time provides the shaded that is needed. Looks Fabulous in the back yard with the water garden. Wife is very happy!!!!!!
