First, We have purchased 2 of these. We picked up the first shed, and we didn't have to do anything. The walmart staff loaded everything for my Husband. It was fairly easy to assemble by myself. Watch the youTube video of a man fully assembling this exact shed. Everything is pretty straightforward until you assemble the two doors. The video easily shows how to quickly do it. The paper instructions were not as helpful as starting and stopping the video during each step. Second, we purchased a second shed and had it delivered. Sam's scheduled the delivery between us and the freight delivery company. We received options up front to schedule a convenient delivery day, and time range for us. The company that delivered ours was Safe, quick and very helpful and polite. They came to the door and asked if I had a spot preference and unloaded and placed it exactly where we wanted to unload it. I was very Happy with this product, and Thanks Bunches for the freight delivery company you use. Quality people delivering a quality product. Very Happy.
Perfect size and just what we've been looking for!
We've been in the market for outdoor storage for the lawn tools, lawn mower, power washer and such for awhile now and finally got serious this last week to find one before the weather makes it too hot to put it together. We looked at all the competition (big box stores) first and we found the right sizes but the prices were outrageous for the vinyl/resin models and we didn't want metal or wood because of the humid weather here in Florida that would rust or dry rot quickly. This shed fits all the size requirements and was fairly easy to put together. It goes much quicker with two people, one holding and one screwing the parts together. The instructions were a bit confusing and the parts numbers didn't match the written instructions but we were able to figure it out still. It took the two of us about 3.5 hours total and that included prepping the soil, pavers to elevate it, and the finishing pieces (locks, hinges, etc.). As you can see, it sits pretty close to the house and we were even able to leave some of the landscaping close so it didn't look like we just plopped in there today. Neutral colors and easy access so we don't have to haul things from the garage back and forth now to work in our back yard. Would recommend this unit to anyone looking for a quick job with roomy storage for small spaces. Our mower, power washer, gardening tools, broom, leaf blowers, hedge trimmers, gas can and a few other assorted items all fit nicely and one great feature about this unit is the built-in floor. No plywood to cut or worry about it getting wet. Here's the finished product started and finished in one afternoon.
Amazing Value
Excellent shed. Easy to assemble. Those other reviews who say it's hard probably shouldn't assembling a shed if they think this is hard. Also, guy who complained that the shelves are missing and sent photo of instructions: read the photo you uploaded -- shelves are not included -- you need to buy wood and cut it as instructed. My wife and I assembled this in under an hour. The doors work perfectly and are very sturdy. Amazing product for the money.
Good but not Great!
This storage unit is good but not great. I like the size and the quality of the material. It was also rather easy to construct. My only complaint is that some internal shelving would have been nice. Also the top latch constantly comes unhinged due to gravity. As a result I had to install a screw in it, along with a child safety latch hold it in place (see attached photos)
Outdoor shed
Nice shed for the money, which looks very nice. I like the color. A few different snags in the directions (skipped over or not as detailed as needed) and I had to watch some videos, but it turned out very nice. We added some shelves my husband cut and put in. Very happy with the purchase.
Affordable, customizable, weather tight.
Sam's Club definitely has the best price on this shed. Picked it up in store and had it put together in a few hours on a deck I had made for it the day before. The instructions are frustrating, and some things like installing the hinges are a real pain. But everything is thoughtfully engineered and the inside of the shed is easily customizable with shelf and hanger options. There are a couple spaces where daylight can be seen in the top back corners, I used one to my advantage to run a wire for a solar light out to it's solar panel. I had some 1x12 pine and made a quick shelf and even though it spans almost 6 feet there is no sag thanks to the molded-in lip built in to the back panels. We've had a couple of heavy downpours and the inside is bone dry. Was thinking of getting a second one to put on the patio and make into a bar area. Thanks Suncast and Sam's!
Buyer Beware-Quality Issues & Suncast doesn't care
Reasonable shed for the cost. But the quality is questionable. I have two. First one installed and works like a champ. Second one that was built on the exact same platform in the exact same location as the first one does not square up (meaning the doors won't close) without major shimming effort to square it up. Moved first one back and it works fine as it always did. First one works fine in its new location 90 inches down the same platform (with no shimming in either location). Suncast Service is a real joke! Called and told them the story above. They said it was an installation problem with the platform, even though the old one worked fine in the same spot. Told me to send pictures of the platform with levels (which showed the platform was level) and of the doors and the opening (which showed doors totally out of square). Then said the pictures did not show a problem and asked for measurements around the doors. Finally the email that said there was no possible manufacting or quality problem that could be attributed to their product. Asked for the Director of service to call, and six days later a lady called to tell me she had her engineers look at the pictures and the problem was that I had not installed properly because the platform was made of treated 2x6's and that 2x6's are more susceptible to the weather and moisture that a piece of plywood. She said sorry that I was unhappy but there was nothing in the Suncast molded plastic product that could cause thinks to not be level. What a joke. I've fixed the problem with shims (lots of shims) as returning it is neither allowed or convenient. If I had had this experience with the first one i bought from SAMs I never would have bought a second one. Bottom line I thought the shed was useful and a good value which is why i bought a second one. But buyer beware - there are quality issues and Suncast will not step up to own them. Will not buy another Suncast item. There are better manufactures tat stand behind their product. impacte not a piece of plywood. We discussed that y hra lady called me back armanufa g a.ogh it is y o shimrw as a as ore - does not square up . i
Requires building foundation
This shed requires building a foundation under it or they will not honor any sort of warranty. No materials for a foundation are included and it's far more complicated than assembling this not all that large shed. I think it should be waaaay more heavily advertised that they expect you to build a foundation from scratch out of wood or concrete
3x5 not 4x6
It's only a 3x5, it's 10 inches short of the claimed size in BOTH directions. 16 sqft and 24 sqft are a big difference! So glad I brought a tape measure and know how to read it. Also general rule of rounding still makes it 3x5. Not sure who made the decision to call the 4x6 but the rooftop doesn't even deserve to be called that.
Bad hinges
This would have been a great long lasting shed if not for the hinges. Would it have killed you to put a regular slide in pin hinge on these things? I predict This shed will be unusable before long because of the hinges. They are difficult to install and to keep in place. We had to rig ours and put in extra screws which is not good in this thin plastic. I was disappointed in the hinges because it could have been a great shed
