It appears to work as described. Not sure how much it helps but it does help to put moisture in the room. I only use distilled water and have not had to clean it yet ( 3 weeks). Good size and easy to fill. I do not use night light but it is a nice feature.

I tend to find that I can use one for about 6 months or so before having to replace it. From the different types I have used I hands down prefer a filtered one. This one does NOT use a filter. What I do like about this one: It has an on an off light switch so it will illuminate if you need to in a child's room, or just for extra light or whatever. It is fairly quiet. It goes 70 hours on a fill of water. Things I don't like about it: It does not contain a filter. This humidifier does spray out a "fine mist" which I would like to say isn't really that fine. I can see, hear and feel the mist as it comes out. I haven't use it very long but I am sure it will create the film on my furniture that other filter less models create. It is pretty quiet BUT when the room has not much activity in it you can hear a slight chirping noise almost. I am sure this wouldn't be an issue for some people but to me, it can become a little annoying. It is on the smaller more slender side so it would be nice for a person that needed one that fits in a smaller space but this humidifier is just not for me.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Pureguardian brand humidifier is a great product for a low cost. This humidifier can last up to 70 hours! It is pretty easy to use. It is real lightweight, blue color and comes in a box with instructions. The humidifier can be filled up with up to one gallon of water and a good thing about this product is if you have it turned on and you go to work and accidentally forget to turn it off, it will automatically shut off on its own after the water in the tank runs out, so I think that's a great thing as you don't have to be worried about it catching on fire. The humidifier has got 3 settings and has got a cool mist function, you can choose the speed of the mist control, you can also choose a nightlight option which is in red color when you turn it on. It can be used for small or medium rooms. Overall the quality is great, real easy to use, only has two buttons, which are on and off button and a nightlight button. The only thing that I would like to be different about it is a color and a size. The size of this devise is pretty big and looks a little bulky but for the price this humidifier does exactly what it says it is supposed to do. So for those who are looking for inexpensive humidifier I highly recommend this one as it is easy to use, not too expensive, and it does the job!

I only give 4 stars because of the birght light that comes with , when it's on. It would've been very nice if there was ca way to have this humidifier on, but have the light off. So far I love verything else about it, 1gal water(the best feature) and super quiet, like I dont have it in my room. Now let's hope it would last for a while...

It is that time of year when the heaters are drying out the air and this humidifier does a great job of moisturizing it. I don't even hear it running but noticed a difference in the air about an hour after I plugged it in. It was easy to fill the container and place it on the base. I love that it has it's own little night light on it. It is a bit big, but I put it on a stand and it enhances the stand now. I haven't had it long enough to have to worry about cleaning it, but the instructions that were included were easy to read and I don't think there will be any hassles when it is time to clean it. I am going to keep the original box so that I can store it when it is not in use. I highly recommend the Pureguardian Humidifier to anyone looking for a good product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The pureguardian 70-hour Ultrasonic Humidifier is compact and attractive. But, after reading the warnings on the inside cover of the Use & Care Instructions, I was almost afraid to use it. Did they really need to put toxic chemicals in the cord? And, it was not helpful to be told, "Do not keep this product running for an extended period of time" without an explanation of what is considered "an extended period of time." After all, this is a humidifier and needs to run constantly to be effective. The instructions specified that the Power Button was also the Mist Control/Refill Indicator LED. At first, I could not determine how to change the amount of mist. The button did not move, and there was no low, med, high designation on the base to facilitate it. Repeatedly pressing the on/off button did not make a discernable difference - until the unit was on for several minutes. When the humidifier is turned on, it is low, another press of the on/off button is med and a third press is high. Otherwise, the instructions were clear and well written. The humidifier is easy to refill, however, once full it is awkward to place it on the base, especially without a visual mark to help line it up. The smooth roundness of the tank prevented me from getting a good grip on it. After several tries, it fell into place. Some finger indents in the tank would've helped. The LED night light is a nice touch and would be great for a kid's room, but I found it distracting so was pleased that it could be turned off. The large green on/off light turns red when the water level is low and the unit shuts itself off, another nice feature. A small brush is included for cleaning the ultrasonic disk. I used the humidifier on high in a 10'x12' room. It increased the humidity almost 1% per hour over a 10 hour period. I had to refill the tank after 26 hours of continuous use. The unit worked very well and is super quiet. I would recommend it for a small room.

When I received the package, it was well-wrapped, the only problem, and I warn anyone opening it, BE CAREFUL, the reservoir container just falls off. It's not connected. Almost dropped it on the floor but caught it mid-air. The humidifier itself is AWESOME for my allergies. I had one of the best nights sleep in a long time and have been since setting it up. It makes absolutely no noise at all. My cat was fascinated with the mist coming out of the top. There are three settings available with a push of the green button on the front, low, medium, and high mist. I set it on the medium and it's perfect for me. Someone with more allergy or sinus issues might prefer the higher setting. The "mister" is able to be rotated all the way around. Again, noiseless! Me, personally, I could do without the night light. I put a piece of black electrical tape over the bulb before I put the reservoir back on because the light keeps me awake. The ONLY downside of this humidifier is the fact that it states "70-hour." It's not. The reservoir was down almost 2/3 by the first morning. Gone after the second morning. So, I don't know how the hours were calculated, but they're not even close. I use it about 7 hours a night, so, in doing the math, I will get about 21-24 total hours out of the medium setting.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Ultrasonic humidifier runs much quieter than the steam models. It has three output settings so you can choose how much mist you would like. Depressing the button on the front gives you the output choices. Also the night light is a nice extra feature, and can be turned off if you like. I prefer the ultrasonic humidifiers to the hot steam vaporizers because it is much safer around children.

The selling point on this size was the fact that I only have to refill it once a day. I was already sold on the brand. On a side note, it is very heavy, so be prepared, and big, nothing like what the picture shows on-line.
