Not a good value in the long run

I have driven over 1000 miles  on these tires in my gas-based sedan. This is the third set of tires on this vehicle, the second BF Goodrich, but they are clearly not as good as the last BF ones - I am disappointed.  I purchased them in Feb in the northeast and have driven through rain, snow, ice, and even a few perfect days with unusually warm weather. I commute 50 hwy miles to work and also do a lot of neighborhood driving with my kids. While the tires seem safe in all conditions (braking was good) I am finding that they handle just OK.  But the main reasons I cannot recommend these tires are because my mpg has decreased noticeably, and they require me to apply more gas to get up to speed. When entering highways I have to push so hard it not only stresses my engine but it’s starting to make my leg sore.  I calculated my fuel spending. Over the life of these tires I will pay waaaay more than I would have, if only I bought a set of more expensive tires with better mpg. But now I am paying extra for these “just ok” tires.  Don’t make the same mistake I made - I hope this helps.

Amazing tire for the price!

I bought these tires about 2 weeks ago and they are amazing! I cannot believe how smooth the ride they are and there is a little bit of a road noise but it's not enough to really even count. At highway speeds they are very smooth very comfortable. I am so glad I went back to BF Goodrich!

BF Goodrich Advantage control

I bought these tires because of great overall experience and quality of the BF Goodrich tires I have had had in the past. This tire too is awesome, it is not a snow tire but these tires perform incredibly in snow and very wet conditions. They perform equally good on dry roads. I do highly recommend them.

Good Tires

I have BFG tires on my Mustang and I have been very happy with them. These BFG tires are replacing Michelin tires on my Toyota Avalon. I have only used these tires for a week and these tires are as quiet as the Michelin tires were and performance has been as good. All in all this has been as great purchase.

Best Tires, bar none!

I've been a fan of BFG tires for over ten years. Any time I have gotten a new or different vehicle, regardless of the tires on it, I have always put BFGs on. The Advantage Control is likely the best tire on the market for comfort, durability, reliability, and multi-surface traction in any weather. I replaced my current vehicle tires at 39000 miles and the difference in steering and handling was immediate. It's as if its a whole new ride. Whenever someone asks me what kind or brand of tire to get, I always say BF Goodrich! It's the only way to go!

Excellent bad weather traction

I decided to try this tire because it had some better ratings than others for snowy conditions. I replaced a set of Goodyear Eagle RSA tires with these on a 2012 Mazda 3. After 4 months and a couple of snowstorms, time for a review. The tires are a bit softer and have more slide-slip than the Eagle RSA had, took me a little time to adjust to the dry pavement feel when making a lane change maneuver. They just react to input a smidge slower. There is a little extra tire noise which I notice on wet pavement, but not enough to complain about, it is just there as a result of the tread design. There was a definite improvement in traction on snowy and even wet roads in comparison to the Eagle RSA tire. Living in Michigan, this was a big positive. The only other negative was a 1 MPG decrease in my fuel economy over the Eagle RSA tires. When from an average of 35 to 34 MPG on my weekly commute when averaged over a few months. I assume this is due to a softer tire compound increasing the rolling coefficient of friction. Given the improved traction in bad weather, I can live with this.

1st Car tire from BFGoodrich

Bought these tires mostly because it was within budget and from a brand I've known in the off-road world. They seem to be better than the OEM firestones FR740? But they were Old to begin with (9yrs). So far dry performance is decent.. Good Control, Cornering traction, Response but a bit heavier to accelerate though just because they are wider than stock from 185/55r16 to these 205/50r16. We’ll see in the long run how they perform.. especially on the next winter season.. they seem to be siped well. They’re not directional or asymmetric but not sure if that matters

Great tires, not going to make it near 65k

These Tires have now been installed for 3 years, approx 40k miles, nearly all highway. They have performed great, they have worn evenly shoulder to shoulder. I like that the shoulder tread is thick so you don't lost tread on the outer part of this tires fast. They are at about 4/32 inch at 40k, they are rated for 65k. I doubt they will make it to that before hitting the 2/32, but I wont be finding out becasue once you get below 4/32 you lose a ton of the road grip and these become unsafe. I have a set of advantage sport and they are also 65k tires and those are wearing much better at 7/32, as they have for me on other vehicles of mine and family members.. not a big fan of these advantage controls as far as wear

excellent ride comfort

I replaced noisy tires that had about 50k miles on them. The new Advantage Control tires were not only much quieter, the gave a much smoother ride than the previous set did. They seem to be very good under wet driving conditions, but I have yet to drive them in winter conditions. Even my spouse noticed the difference in theses tires!

Bad Gas Mileage

I bought these tires because the original tires cost a little more than I could afford. The BF Goodrich tires were next best tires down from the original that dealer had in my size. I first thing that I notice were how quiet these tires are compared to the original. But down side is my gas mileage went down 2-3 mpg. And I'm losing air pressure, I don't know if its the tires or some other issue. As for traction, little less than the originals, needs more steering input and the rear wants to come around more. The tires feel heavier and looks taller. The ride is comparable to the originals.

Itsme, we recommend having the tires inspected by a BFGoodrich retailer, preferably the selling dealer, to determine if there is an air loss or if it is due to cooler temps. We suggest that you call us at 866-866-6605 from the dealer's store. Regarding the MPG, new tires having full tread depth will have more grip and rolling resistance in comparison to worn tires. As the new tires wear, the rolling resistance decreases. Over the life of the tires, all things being equal, the fuel efficiency should improve.
