Two different tread patterns

I have two 2014 F150s. On the one with 17” rims the AT2s are one of the best all purpose tires I’ve used. Got 75k miles on a set and bought another set. Bought a set for the truck with 18” rims. Slightly different tread pattern and I’ll end up getting half the milage out of them. Do not buy!!! Look at the specs for the different rim sizes. You will notice the tread depth is not the same.

reply from Consumer Care

We understand the LTX A/T2 tires on your 2014 F150 did not meet your expectation in terms of mileage. A member of our Consumer Care team will be in contact with you. You may also reach our office at 1-866-866-6605.

I mounted a set of these ...

I mounted a set of these after finally reaching the end of service life (tread wear) on a set of LTX A/Ts. I must say that I don't like these A/T2s quite as much as their predecessor. It seems to me that tire maintenance is more critical with the A/T2; shorter alignment/balance interval keeps tread wear in check. The tread pattern seems to be a little less aggressive as "self-cleaning/clearing" off road is a bit more difficult. I have owned a few different brands of A/Ts for my '97 Dodge Ram 2500. I without hesitation recommend the LTX AT2 for any light truck application. I tow a 12,000 lb 5th wheel with regularity and the 8-ply construction of these tires are outstanding! With or without that trailer, I have 80,000 miles on my current set of A/T2s running in dry and wet pavement, snow, slush, off-road on some seriously nasty trails..... this is a very dependable tire that resists hydroplaning, provides a smooth, quiet ride and are now the only brand and model of tire I'll use on my truck. I honestly think that the LTX A/T2 may be the finest all terrain light truck tire manufactured today.

ABSOLUTELY UNSAFE

These tires came stock on my 2019 Toyota Tundra, which doesn’t speak well for either Michelin or Toyota. They are absolutely unsafe on grooved concrete pavement. The tires vibrate and cause really bad vibration in the steering wheel, rendering the vehicle almost out of control (at highway speed.) It’s obviously incredibly uncomfortable for everyone, and changing speed does not help. I later found out that my best friend replaced his identical tires after only 5k miles, after having the same exact problem. I can’t believe these tires are allowed to be sold.

60k mi review

I bought these tires to replace the factory Michelin LTX M/S2's that came on my Ram 1500 4x4 (Also a great tire). I noticed that the A/T2's had excellent grip in the snow and are plenty capable of some offroading. I've driven the tires aired down in the dunes, rocky roads, snow, mud, etc. Nothing crazy but these tires are plenty capable. Ex. they come stock on the Tundra TRD Off Road. I've done plenty of towing on long road trips. They are light and smooth enough so they won't hurt your mpg. Like most people the majority of the mileage on these tires was back and forth to work on the highway. I rotated the tires every 8k mi and the wear was excellent. After 60k miles there was still about 30% tread on them. I never had any issues. These are the best tires I've ever had. After 5 years and 60k mi I eventually traded them out for BFG AT KO2's because I felt I had gotten my money's worth and I plan to do more aggressive offroading Note: the BFG AT KO2 definitely hurts your MPG by about 10%. For a daily driver and occasional offroader I can't say enough good things about this tire. Go to any tire shop and they'll tell you Michelins are one of the best.

Michelin on my F-250 Super Duty 4X4 Dies

When choosing my tires I looked at just about everything, warranty, Sidewall Rating, Tread Design, and the look of the Tire itself along with the Price. I chose my Michelin LTX A/T2 because of several reviews and all of Tech Specs on these tires, I'm putting them on an F-250 4X4 Super Duty Diesel so I wanted This Major Investment to work well with my Truck. Now that they are on my Truck and have had the time to drive and check them out I must say I'm very impressed. They ride smooth, quiet, great handling on all surfaces and fantastic handling in the curves with this Big Truck. There is just 1 word to describe how much I like my new Michelin LTX A/T2 Tires, " Awesome"

I have always bought ...

I have always bought Michelin tires, but would not buy these again. I actually have LTX A/T tires, not LTX A/T2. I was in an accident last winter. I would not recommend these tires are road that have any rain or snow. They have no traction when wet. I lost my job and can not at this time replace them. I just have to drive extremely cautious when the weather is bad.

Very happy with this product.

Have use these tires on our Jeep Liberty in Colorado, where weather conditions can be very extreme and switchy. The AT/2s have provided great rain, snow and ice traction for my wife's daily trip to her school where she teaches. We live fifteen miles out town and three miles down a dirt and gravel road at a 7000 foot elevation.

Superb Choice

Have put a few hundred miles on this tire, which replaced a superb tire by a Michelin competitor, which was an LT tire C range. This Michelin tire has made our Yukon XL ride much more comfortably. I chose this tire because I was seeking a tire that would allow me NOT to use snow tires in the winter. While I will have to wait to see if that is successful--and I fully expect it will be, the LTX A/T2 has excellent traction and has greatly improved the ride of the vehicle. Also, they are very quiet at highway speeds. Finally, the tire was very competitively priced. Initial reaction is that this tire was a superb choice for our requirements.

First class tire Another Homerun by Mich

This tire is another fantastic tire from Michelin. I installed them on my Isuzu Ascender and with 25,000 miles they still look and perform like brand new. They are excellent in both wet weather and snow. I don't typically go off roading so I can't attest to their off road abilities, but they are the best tire for the money for my use. While certainly not the cheapest alternative, they more then pay for themselves with their longevity. I have previously had the original AT tires and got in excess of 75,000 miles and they still passed state inspection.

Very Good Tire

I have 68000 miles on these tires. I keep them rotated as required. They look like they'll probably make another 15,000 easily. I use them mostly on the highway, but frequently pull my large boat. They seem to get a little out of balance the more they wear. Overall, an excellent tire.
