I live in California where Waffle House does not exist. However, I purchased these gift cards online as a Christmas gift for a relative who resides in Georgia where there are plenty of Waffle Houses. He loves the Waffle House. The problem arose when the gift cards arrived with a statement on the package “must be activated at checkout register”. Because I purchased them online at samsclub.com as opposed to a Sam’s Club warehouse, no one could at the warehouse or online tell me if they are automatically activated, despite having my proof of purchase. Nor did I receive an email from Sam’s Club with an activation code. I can only hope my relative has no issues or suffers any embarrassment when using them at his local Waffle House. Sam’s Club needs to offer better customer service on 3rd party gift cards sold by their online website.

ZERO balance on this gift card that I gave as a prize to multiple guests at a holiday party in December! This is extremely embarrassing to me as some guests who unsuccessfully attempt to use the gift cards may not always let me know they were unable to redeem it.
