Great fryer. Light weight but durable. Super easy clean up and easy to pour oil out of pan when done. Heats up quickly -about 15 minutes to get to 350 degrees. And maintains heat pretty good when adding food. Makes great fish and fries and going to try chicken next and so many other foods. The only con that I do not care for- the short cord. Cooking with hot oil should not be too close to a wall or in my case, I use it outdoors and do not want it that close to my house so need extension cord. Other point is that even though I appreciate the safety feature of the magnetic cord for easy release- it is super annoying that you have to prop up the cord because the weight of the cord pulls it right out. Feel there could be a little better design for the cord but I love this thing so much still giving 5 star. Going to place an order for a 2nd one to keep at our other home. Sam's price is best around for this appliance.

My Husband wanted a deep fryer, so I chose to purchase this model because the Hamilton Beach brand is reliable. He had a smaller Hamilton Beach deep fryer years ago, so I wanted to upgrade him to a larger size!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This thing is gigantic. Seriously. It takes 3.5 standard bottles of oil to fill. It heated up just as fast as our old deep fryer. Only down side is the lid is not attached, you have to have somewhere ready to set the lid. And the hook to prop the basket up is low enough that it is covered in oil, dripping the oil down the front.

I haven't owned a deep fryer, and this one doesn't disappoint. Really big basket, thermocouple seems to be responsive, and the hard to clean parts are dishwasher safe. Nits: it's still hard to clean, and the paint on the dial is already rubbing off.

This fryer exceeded my expectations! Oil was ready quickly, ample room in the frying basket. The power cord is perfect length and the control panel is simple and easy to use!

The magnetic break away safety cord is a joke. U just barely bump it and it falls off. So 3 times now im in the middle of frying a big dinner and the cord falls off. So by the time u see it has stopped heating the oil has cooled down and everything stops. So 3 ruined dinners cause had to sit n wait till it heats back up again. I'm going to cut a hole in the plastic and solder a real power cord on it.

No way you could ever cook 13 cups of food in this fryer. Doesn’t keep up with 5 cups of French fries.

can't fry anything with it other than fries. when i try to make our African pastries, they come our soooooo bad. won't recommend this for African pastries. does not heat up quickly
