- 5 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchase2/17/2026Wow! I just replaced my 6 year old (6 yr 3 months) Duracell battery from Sam's with a new one. Never had a battery last so long.
Duracell long lasting
H Huntley - 5 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchase11/7/2025I purchased the battery and a young man got it installed for free, in a short amount of time. Thats my 3rd battery ive bought from sams and i will continue to buy batteries from them.

Overall great product
- 1 out of 5 stars review12/30/2023Just bought this Group 24F battery today. It is TOO TALL for my truck...too tall for a 24F specification. My truck came new with a 24F. And then I replaced that 5 years ago with another 24F. Today I bought this 24F and my hold-down bracket will not attach because the battery is out-of-spec dimensionally!
TOO TALL For Group Size 24F
JonB - 1 out of 5 stars review11/4/2024Like others, our battery died after 1 year and 9 months. We had thought Duracell would make a good car battery, but apparently, their battery dying much shorter than expected is a common issue. Fortunately, Sam's Club replaced the battery without any issue, but they also did it so quickly that I would guess this happens quite often. We won't be buying this car battery again.
Do not buy
Wayne - 5 out of 5 stars review6/23/2016We purchased one for my wife's SUV before the old battery failed, it was close. We paid much less and same warranty or better, (3 years) as other batteries showed. We both liked these batteries for cost and warranty and were happy with battery we purchased for our house generator too.
Low cost and great battery
MillerTyme - 1 out of 5 stars review11/7/2018I bought battery July 1, 2017 and it completely died on me November 5, 2018. 1 year and 4 months too early. Totally disappointed. This is not safe when you are somewhere stuck and by yourself. The only good thing, I kept my receipt, called prior to see if they had it stock and was replaced for free. I'm giving it one more try, based on positive/negative reviews. This time around I'm going to pay more attention and have it checked when it gets close to a year. If it happens again, i'm going to change to another brand.
Battery Died too Early
pupuhinohino - 2 out of 5 stars review2/12/2015Purchased this in July 2013 for $85 for our 2009 Odyssey. Started having issues with starting in early Feb 2015. Took the van to Honda to have them check it out. They tested the battery and said it was OK. A week later the van would not start. Called AAA who tested it and said it had a bad cell. I'll give it 2 starts because it worked well for half it's life.
Lasted less than 2 years
123Bobby123 - 1 out of 5 stars review4/19/2017Very disappointed. Just got on August 2016, and after around 8 months, all of sudden it dies. In August 2016, when I was in the market to purchase a battery, I saw some review that not many people happy with this brand/model. But I still bought it as I have Duracell before and it didn't gave me any problem. I was wrong. On top of that, after few weeks/month I still bought again one more for my wife car. I am a student with very busy scheduled. And this misshape almost destroyed my entire day. I wish I have trusted the reviews. Thanks to Sams Club that they change it for no cost. But Sams Club may want to investigate if Duracell is compromising the battery quality. Thanks
Last only 8 months
Kashif - 3 out of 5 stars review10/10/2018My truck is 14 years old, so I've replaced the battery a few times, and it seems to need a new battery about every 3 years (every car is a little different), plus I live in West Texas and the summers are HOT so that doesn't help. Anyway... This battery lasted me 2yrs & 8 months. When it died, Sams replaced it under the 3 yr replacement warranty. So for my $100 battery purchase, I should end up getting about 5-6 years (between 2 batteries), of use, with the inconvenience of having to replace it once in between. Then again, if it lasted a few more months, the warranty would have expired, and I would have had to purchase a new battery.
It works while it works
honeydoer - 4 out of 5 stars review12/5/2023This is the battery I need for my 2010 Nissan Frontier and last week I tried to start it and it was weak, but nearly dead. I bought it nearly 4 years ago to the day (I always put the date on the battery with a sharpie). Like most batteries, it's great when it's great and not when it's not. Bottom line I got 4 years out of it, living in Iowa (cold winters, hot-ish summers). I will give one star per year that it served me :-)
I got 4 years...
Ron - 3 out of 5 stars review9/17/2014I live in Florida and it lasts for 2 years and 2 months. The warranty is 3 years. The headache is your car die more often than you need it. I am NOT highly recommend this battery because it doesn't last as long as it said. I will get a free replacement (I hope) and if the new one dies shortly after 3 years, I will find and switch to a better battery to save the headache of getting stranded every 2 or 3 years.
Fair battery
FLresident2014 - 4 out of 5 stars review6/3/2015I currently have two Duracells in use. One that was bought almost 4 years ago with the 3 yr & 8 yr prorated warranty failed but SAMs took good care of me with a replacement. However they no longer have the prorated warranty after the three year period. Now at the first sign of sluggish starting I either have the batteries tested or go ahead and replace it before it fails and I get stuck calling AAA or jump starting it until I can replace it. It looks like 3 1/2 years use is a good bet and time to replace these batteries.
My third Duracell
RFP JR - 5 out of 5 stars review2/21/2023I don’t know some of the reviews about Duracell batteries.People complaining there junk there made by East Penn who also makes Deka and diehard batteries I’ve had mine know for going on 6 years maybe check your alternators before writing a nasty review
Automotive battery.
Reds - 4 out of 5 stars review11/4/2013Needed a battery on a Sunday and went to Sam's for an Interstate - which they had always carried. Found they now carry Duracell (huh?!) at $85.00 for my car. I was skeptical and left to shop around. Other chain stores (Auto-Zone, Advance, O'Reilly's) had only house-brands in the $100 - $125 range for my size, with 2 yr. warranty on most. Batteries went up since I last bought one. I'm no expert, but I trusted those house-brands far less than I trusted Duracell - and besides, the price was right + great 3 year replacement warranty. So it was back to Sam's for the Duracell which I chose to install myself because the store was about to close. They charged me $15 extra which was refunded when I brought back my old trade-in a few days later. Wo...
So Far So Good
DaveT1081 - 1 out of 5 stars review3/12/2021I bought 2 batteries for my F250 in 2017. Batteries lasted little more then 1 year and I got free replacement 07/2018. 03/2021 batteries died again. This time there is no warranty. 4 batteries in less then 4 years in Texas. I won’t recommend this batteries to anybody.
Bad Battery
marin - 1 out of 5 stars review3/15/2020Bought new 5/28/18 it died and was replaced under warranty 10/30/19 the replacement died today 3/14/20. Yea its under warranty but its a drag to have to have it go bad then pull it out of my daughters car, and then take it in and then reinstall it. I won't be buying the Duracell brand again.
Two dead in less than 2 years!
sam1 - 1 out of 5 stars review5/15/2020I purchased 7 of these Duracell over the past 10 years. Before I started purchasing these batteries other manufactures auto batteries used to last more than 7 years. All of the Duracell auto batteries I purchased would not last more than 2 to 3 years and some of the replacement battery under the 3 year warranty also didn't last more than 2 to 3 years. I don't know what has happened to the manufacturing of these batteries or where the company has been cutting corners. I might as well go for the cheapest offbrand battery I can find from now on.
DO NOT LAST NOT EVEN FOR THE WARRANTY PERIOD
Pat - 5 out of 5 stars review7/5/2012I was in the market for an automotive battery for my wife's car (2007 Kia Amanti). I actually went to a different retailer at first due to the reviews I had read; however, that plan didn't work out. At this point, my wife and I decided to go to Sam's; mainly because we've always been treated right at Sam's Club, and we know that what ever type/brand they sell, it would have a great warranty. We were surprised to find "Duracell" brand automotive batteries at Sam's! I'm not familiar with Duracell auto batteries, but I know their regular batteries are the best. We were presently surprised at the price, and as we suspected, the warranty was as good as any brand in the industry (3 yr. free replacement and 8 year pro rated after that). After doin...
